Questions & Answers

Can this product be damaged by chlorine bleach cleansers?

Asked by BillHoo July 25, 2018

Chlorine bleach cleansers will not affect this toilet gasket.

What size pipes does the elastic toilet gasket fit?

Asked by Dave January 12, 2018

The toilet gasket fits any drain size such as 3 inches or 4 inches in diameter standard drain pipes.

Is this better than the Fluidmaster better than wax seal?

Asked by Stings July 7, 2018

This toilet gasket has the best of both worlds, it lasts much longer than wax seals, also can be re-positioned many times without losing its shape, allowing movement without leaking, and it is great for high and low temperatures, not like wax seals that are messy, and you have only one chance to place them. Also, it is flexible and sticky, completely different than the Fluidmaster or similar units. The high adhesion ensures a tight seal. It is also anti- microbial, prevents bacteria growth.

Asked by LadyBug13 June 24, 2019

This will not replace your cracked cast iron pipe flange, but you will also need a new toilet gasket in order to secure the flange to the toilet. With this Wax-less elastic gasket, you can reposition it and re-use it

Can it accommodate different flange heights? How is it adjusted for low or high flanges?

Asked by Clay March 13, 2018

The elastic wax-less gasket can be used on the same flange height scenarios than a standard wax ring, but with many additional benefits. The elastic wax-less gasket can be used perfectly well with flanges over the floor level (usually 1/4 to 3/8” that is the thickness of the flange) or if the flange is at the same level as the finished floor. The thickness of the elastic wax-less gasket is about 13/16”.

This Spacio gasket is indeed sticky and elastic. But it does not bounce back immediately like a rubber. Rather, it slowly go back to its original form like a memory foam mattress. It is covered with wax paper in the box. If you touch it with your finger it would stick to it, but you can pull it away with no residue. It is harder to compress than a wax ring. From the side view the elastic portion looks to be about 13/16 inch thick. However, the blue plastic funnel inserts into the elastic and takes up slightly more than half the height. Therefore you cannot compress the gasket to less than 7/16 inch thick without breaking the funnel. Effectively, the gasket's compressible range is from 0 (not compressed at all) to 9/16 inch (maximum compression before breaking). The color of the product is dull light brown like a wax ring, not bright yellow as shown in the product photo. I ended up not using it because I was not able to compress the toilet down to the floor. Either I'm not heavy enough or my flange is too high. I'm going to guesstimate that a floor-level flange (which is 1/4 inch lower than standard) would work best.
