For access to commercial or residential plumbing, electrical wires or cable elements the Elmdor FR24X24PC-RTL will conceal the clutter while providing a safe means of access to important components of the building or home and provides a 90 minute fire rating for areas where the building code requires 1 for the wall. Installation is quick and simple. With its 1 in. finish frame you can conceal the rough opening in your wall to provide a finished look. They can be painted or wallpapered to match any decor for a pleasing look.
  • Ideal for use in new construction or remodeling projects in masonry, tile, wood or other wall surfaces
  • Rated for 1-1/2 hours by Underwriters Laboratories for a U.L. 10-B rating
  • Doors are prime coated, suitable for painting or wall papering and are fabricated from durable 16-Gauge galvanized steel
  • Concealed pivoting rod hinge allows for smooth operation
  • Prime coated means no added prep work prior to painting
  • Included is 1/4 in. mounting holes for installation convenience

A:  Hi Morris, this door is for wall installation only. Please refer back to the Home Depot website and reference our FRC series for fire rated ceiling panel.

      A:  Our FR series has a 11/2 hour wall rating only. Our FRC series has a 2 hour rating on wall and a 3 hour rating on ceiling. Please locate submittals of all of our access doors on our website elmdorstoneman.com for your reference.

          A:  No, this is only designed to be installed in a wall.

            A:  HI Tania, the FR door is for wall installation only. We have the FRC door that can be installed for wall or ceiling. The difference is that our FR door has not been tested for ceiling rating and rating on wall is 1.5 hour while the FRC has a 2 hour rating on wall.

              A:  I would put one in the ceiling with a latter. this is more for exterior wall use I put it in my wall for attic access due to the original access was to small to get into.
