Great for indoor projects
Very easy to work with, sands beautifully and holds well. Would not advise using for outdoor projects.

    Hardly takes a stain
I bought this product because my local Home Depot stopped stocking the Minwax stainable wood filler. I will not be purchasing this product again. It barely took a stain. I used it for a repair on a tabletop and the repair is so pale compared to the rest of the table that it looks worse than the original damage. I think I'm going to have to dig it out and try again with a different product. On the plus side, it sanded well.

      Consistency of horse radish!
Apparently this product has been changed, since I used the 8oz versions before, what a shock I was in for today! The application I got this for was to fill the gap on a door jamb where the stop moulding had been. The 8oz versions I had had were orange, and VERY SMOOTH, something you could use a putty/flex knife on. Today, I got both the "max" version, that failed, and then this. BOTH products now look and have the consistency of horse radish, almost like large bits of sand in it. As a result, this CANNOT be "smoothed, shaped, or tapered" in any way while wet, as the grains will catch and drag through your work. Based on this, it is impossible to smooth holes which would minimize sanding afterwards. You essentially have to put a thick glob on, and sand it down. The 8oz containers I bought ~ DEC 2011, and this is NOT the same stuff (it is not even wood colored! both are the color of pressure-treated lumber... or horse radish!)... so even for indoor use this makes its intended job a miserable experience. Be forewarned.

        Don't Buy
This is supposedly for indoor/outdoor I used it to smooth out my new deck and trust me it was a waste of my time need to redo the whole deck dried for 3 days and some rain came and its almost all gone and cracked

        Junk for outdoor work
This is supposedly for indoor/outdoor use: My experience is that it's worse than nothing for outdoors. I used it to smooth out my deck after scraping (some wood had splintered off). I let it dry for two days; then it got rained on; it turned to soup! I foolishly let it dry again and then stained over it. The next rain turned it to soup again; underneath the stain! I had to scrape the whole mess out and use another product (hint: not Elmer's) to do the job right.

          Great for corn hole boards
I use this to fill in gaps/holes while making corn hole boards. Works as advertised: sandable and paintable.
