Q:Can I apply this to a wooden exterior door? (on an off-grid cabin)

Answer This Question

A:  The brochures on the BullyLiner site do state can be applied to wood. I personally would use primer first.

by|May 15, 2023

A:  That's terrible advice from the other answer here. Do NOT use primer, that will simply give it something other than the wood to bond to. Clean the surface, WELL, sand lightly, use a tack cloth to remove any sawdust, apply. Let FULLY dry.

      Answer This Question

A:  Rolling/Brushing is 260sqft for 4-liters of product. Spraying lays it on thicker so less coverage.

definitely not made for a working man truck bed
This product has great potential for other uses, but definitely not for a TRUCK BED that gets used and abused, it is a rubber-based product, so it is not solid and rigid! It is easy to expose the paint again by just setting simple construction materials in the bed even as light as a 2 x 4! I have spoken to the company and they blame the consumer not the product as advertised! We literally “peeled” out their product and install the rust oleum bed liner and are highly satisfied with the durability of it compared to this product!

          So easy to work with...😉
From start to finish not including sanding, taped windows & trim, wiped surface down with acetone, rolled on with textured foam roller, first coat coverage is sparse, subsequent coats build up thickness and color...approximately 4 hours. I was able to recoat within 30 mins. Cleanup of roller is a breeze with steady spray from water hose nozzle...after every coat and roller was ready to use for subsequent coats. Cured 72 hours and there is a definite difference in hardness.

Vanlife/overlanding here we come! This is amazing.
We have been counting the days until we could paint our T1N Sprinter. Finally, summer vacation is here & a sale was on. I bought two boxes, but the coverage is so fantastic, we will have cans left over. The van looks amazing. It dries very hard. We applied it over mult. days, using foam brushes. It's so easy, we didn't even bother taping off or using drop cloths. Pro-tips: Dilute with water for first coat. It will look uneven until coat 2 or 3. Add h2o to empty cans & shake to use all paint.

Good product but difficult to apply with roller. It definitely needs to be watered down otherwise the rubber clumps and it takes a good deal of pressure to smooth it out. Brushes work but both leave definite stroke marks. The warmer it gets, the more water is needed to spread the product evenly, and it pays to use it in small amounts so it doesn’t begin to cure in the roller tray. It took about 3 coats to even out the color on my van; a 4th coat should be planned for. Coverage was good - it took 12 litre cans to paint a 72 Ford Econoline cargo van. It also did a great job of covering over my less than professional bondo work. Cleanup is a breeze. The color was poorly represented on company’s website. It turned out ok, but much darker than expected. As far as durability, it seems like it cured up solid, and definitely holds up to scratches. It’s more textured than the average truck bed liner, but it’s not bad. Shipping was a pain, and no way to overnight a replacement when the order gets lost in transit, so the extra week wait was no joy. I would use this product again.
