Product Overview

  • Soft beneath the feet for anti-fatigue results
  • Features environmentally friendly recycled rubber construction
  • Install over a hard surface with connector clips, sold separately
Made from 100% recycled rubber, Envirotile has saved approximately 3 million tires from being sent to the landfill. Due to the nature of recycled materials, the tire rubber will vary from tile to tile. This variance results in each tile's naturally unique color as well as size, equaling up to 1/4 in. size difference from tile to tile. Envirotile is a floating floor system with a patented clipping system (sold separately) that provides the ease of a do-it-yourself application. These tiles can be installed on top of any existing hard surface such as wood, concrete and patio tiles. The floating floor system is an investment; it is simple to pick up your tiles and move them to another location.
  • For use on balconies, patios, rooftops, decks, child play areas and more to create a beautiful floor
  • Each tile weighs approximately 8 lbs., making it light enough to carry by hand but heavy enough to stay put in place
  • Recycled rubber tiles are noise absorbing and anti-fatigue
  • Tiles are weather and frost resistant and do not have to be removed during the winter
  • Non-skid and impact absorbing
  • Easy DIY installation using patented connector clips, see installation guide and video for step-by-step instructions
  • Size variance, rotating the tiles side by side to find the best fit will help to alleviate variance issues
  • $3.55/ sq. ft. equivalent

Questions & Answers

Are these tiles suitable to cover bare ground?

I'm thinking of doing this as an alternative to laying actual flagstones in my back yard, and I want to cover an area 22 ft.X10 ft.
Asked by: Franc1sc0
Yes. We did this over 5 years ago and they are still working fine for us. Saved us a lot of money and installed instantly. I recently installed an additional 10 boxes to extend the -patio area we earlier installed directly on mud, a slope and some grass. I am 76 with arthritis in my hands and did it in less than 2 hours without any help. They look good. We get snow in the winter and they are easy to walk on. We use a hose to clean them off. The tiles are heavy and last a long time Ours look like they will still be looking good 10 years from now, probably after we are gone.

can water and moisture get trapped under the tiles?

I want to put this over concrete
Asked by: Cindy
If they were placed over concrete yes but if placed on leveling sand or dirt then the water should soak into the ground and the sun should help remove any moisture.

Customer Reviews

Cobblestone 18 in. x 18 in. Terra Cotta Rubber Paver (4-Case) is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 134.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice, but not for large projects or outdoors 3 months ago, I finished a 16x6 patio that is slightly exposed to the elements. However, it's barely rained in the past 3 months. I live up in Park City, UT area and it's been hot and dry. If I had to do over, I would not put these tiles down on a patio unless it's completely dry, and make sure you have ventilation under the floor. I can see mold and other fungus forming under the tiles closest to the edge near the grass. The grass gets watered and we water plants on our patio, so, occassionally water gets on the tiles. it never dries up under the tiles, so, mold starts to form after awhile. I would only recommend these tiles for indoor/dry area patios. Also, the tiles seem to be different sizes. We tried to mix/match colors and found that they don't all align properly. Some are thicker, some are longer, etc..so, not an consistant match. It would be better to invest in a finished concrete pattern. I will probably move my tiles to the garage next season and put something else on the patio

I purchased them in April 2017 with the connecting clips and followed the directions to install them by myself with no problems. The pavers were installed directly on the ground in the yard, but I did level the ground before installation. Unlike stone pavers, the leveling process does not have to be perfect because of the flexible material used in the Envirotile paver. The pavers met my goal of minimizing the amount of dirt that the kids track into the house from the backyard. One thing to consider -- the Earth paver does get hot to the touch when it is in consistent direct mid-day sun, so you will want to make sure it is not too hot for bare-footed kids. For us, the Envirotile pavers are perfect because we needed a soft walkway from the house to the trampoline and firepit where the kids would not be hurt if they fell on the walkway.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect flooring solution for our balcony We have a beautiful 80 year old New Orleans victorian home with a 300sf balcony that's covered in galvanized steel. Outdoor rugs disintegrated within a year and the painted steel was an awful look. We wanted a lightweight flooring solution that would fit under the rail all the way to the outer edge of the deck. (Check out the Photo.) Though the manufacturer suggests using the clips only on the perimeter, I recommend using them for the entire surface. It just looks better when they're all tightly fitted and they don't move when you walk on them. The tiles are not all the same, but that give it more of an organic feel. The clips help to keep tiles in place by pulling and tugging on the entire surface. It does take quite a bit of effort to install on large areas, but everyone that sees it agrees that it was a great choice. Love that it absorbs sound and is slip resistant. At one inch thick it's quite comfy to walk on. We bought these right off the shelf. It would be great if the store maintained the display better. We bought every clip from every store in the New Orleans area and still didn't have enough. We had to order extra clips which delayed installation for a week. Overall extremely satisfied.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great, but not perfect PROS: When not in direct sunlight, the tiles are very cool and comfortable to walk on. They cool down very quickly after the shade falls on them. The smell of rubber goes away after a couple of days, and they do look really good. I installed them on my deck. CONS: The product literature at the manufacturer website says the tiles' color will vary due to the process. I expected the tiles to be slightly different in color but varied enough that I could make it look intentional. The tiles came in essentially two shades; about 20% one shade and 80% the other. Ultimately it still looks good, but you can spot the out of place tiles. The rubber does get REALLY hot in the direct sun, so wear shoes. Installation tip: You have to use the clips, otherwise you won't get the tiles to line up properly. You only need to clip the outside row of tiles, then place the inside tiles. It's nearly impossible to clip all the tiles together. Also, I found it much easier to use my hand to reach under the tiles and install the clips rather than pound them with a mallet. Often the hole and clip did not line up perfectly and so I was pounding the clip into the rubber. By hand, however, it worked a charm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Envirotile Cobblestone Earth Pavers Did The Job I did a considerable amount of research and review reading prior to ordering the Envirotile Pavers. I even wrote directly to the manufacture for additional advice. Positives: The pavers worked as described and look great. Other reviews stated they were difficult to cut, but I found them extremely easy to cut, handle and install. I used a jig saw with a sharp new blade, and it was like cutting through butter. They lined up perfectly, and were not odd sizes as I had feared by older reviews. Perhaps they have changed manufacturing methods, but it was not an issue. Negatives: I used the pavers to cover ugly cracked concrete steps entering my house. The pavers are meant to be used with a clip to attach each paver and line them up perfectly. That could not be done on steps. I used a concrete adhesive recommended by Envirotile, and it worked perfectly, however, where the clips were supposed to go, the underside of the paver is grooved, and you can see the groove at the front of each step. I filled the groove with the mastic and painted it brown to make it disappear. This would not be an issue on a flat floor surface. Overview: I love the completed look of the tiles, and like them so far. After a hard winter in Salt Lake City, I will know for sure if I love them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Easier said then done!! Quality is good but quality control is poor. If each tile were consistent it would have been a breeze. The clips are a joke, they don't fit in the grooves that are designed for them. The reason you have to use a mallet and whack them hard is to cut a new groove in the tile for the clip to fit, but then the edges were higher in places. We ended up taking out the clips and just laying them next to each other, but still have some gaps because of the inconsistent manufacturing of each tile. Cutting the tiles was a challenge! We bought a good jigsaw for cutting, but found the best cut came from the box knife scoring over and over until it cut through.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent purchase We bought this product three years ago for a small concrete front porch that has had everything from paint to outdoor carpeting since the home was built in 1978. This is by far the best solution we have found. After three years the dark brown color has not faded or worn. Once a year we clean it with Simple Green and a brush and water hose. Spraying with water hose or sweeping with leaf blower keeps clean otherwise. We did not have any trouble with installation. The tiles are not all perfectly square but we were able to deal with that. This product is worth the money to us and I recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow, what a great product! I needed to redo my front walkway. It was a mess and the concrete pavers I had installed were cracked and ruined. The Envirotiles intrigued me because of the environmental friendliness. The company that produces them answered all of my questions directly, clearly and promptly. When they arrived, I was very thrilled with them. The installation was similar to pavers for my project but they are easier to move around. The clips can be tricky, especially when the tiles are in the sun and get heated but overall, this was a sweet solution. The walkway looks great and the installation was much less traumatic. I highly recommend this product!
