Trees over 9 feet

Fertilize once a month with smaller amounts. Keep the leaves green by applying as needed. Appling too much will not burn. Applying too little and the leaves will be a paler green.

How is this applied to established (3-4 foot) trees in pots?

You have to water it so the product can work then scratch it into the soil.

The results are worth the bad smell
First of all, yes it smells bad. But unless you have your face in your plant/tree continuously for 48 hours, the smell shouldn't be a problem. The smell goes away. I've been using this fertilizer on my Ponderosa lemon for 3 years now. The results are exceptional! I get a ton of healthy blooms and the fruit is a show stopper and delicious. And I talk to my 7 foot tree (in a pot) and give it a lot of praise, so I'm sure that encourages it to be so beautiful. Try this stuff, and use exactly as recommended. You shouldn't be disappointed.

I have two citrus plants. A lemon tree and an orange tree. Both plants would have plenty of flowers but would not hold any fruits. The fruits would turn black and drop off when they were very small. The people at a nursery advised me to cut down on water to the plants. But no effect. Then I tried this fertilizer. Now I have abundant fruits and I did not need to cut down on water either. This fertilizer has worked well for my citrus plants and I will always use it. Use it every two months through out the year.

Fair results but beware if have dogs as this product contains bone meal
Home Depot review 9/11/2020 for the Espoma 8 lb. Organic Citrus Tone Plant Food. Fair results, nothing outstanding. Note the contents: Feather meal, poultry manure, bone meal (ground animal bones and slaughter-house waste products), alfalfa meal, greensand, sulfate of potash, and sulfate of magnesia. Due to the use of bone meal, dogs may be attracted to and eat this product (as well as the surrounding materials). Bone meal is a hazard for dogs.
