Product Details

1/2 in. x 50 ft. Twisted Nylon and Polyester Rope is desirable rope material due to its strength and durability. It is acid, mildew, rot, oil and gas resistant. Warning: Avoid using a knot; splicing is preferable. Knots reduce the strength of the rope up to 50%. Do not use this product for overhead lifting, support of human weight or athletic equipment or other situations where personal safety or valuable property can be endangered. The working loads shown should never be exceeded. Additional care must be exercised when using this product under shock (stress, jerk) conditions. These conditions can reduce working loads by as much as 33%. Never stand in line with rope under tension; such a rope, particularly nylon rope, may recoil (snap back). Never use this product to secure large flat surfaces or objects, which could "Airplane" or dislodge through buildup of air pressure. All ropes should be replaced if signs of wear, such as broken fibers are apparent. Misuse can result in serious injury or death.

Q:Can this rope be used as a ladder rope replacement?

Answer This Question

A:  I'm not sure of your terminology "rope ladder" but, I used it to attach a play cargo net of the same size synthetic rope to a children's playset monkey bars. I used this because it was softer and easier to braid to fill in some space and to tie the knots. It worked great for that purpose.

A:  No, this is not a recommended application for the Everbilt 1/2 in. x 50 ft. Nylon Twist Rope in White. Please read this posted warning on our product Webpage: Avoid using a knot; splicing is preferable. Knots reduce the strength of the rope up to 50%. Q:Can this rope be used for pulling with a pulley system.

      Answer This Question

A:  Yes, as long as the weight does not exceed 525lbs working load limit

      by|Jun 3, 2021

A:  Yes, by all means. Light weight and very flexible.

      by|Jan 29, 2021

A:  Sure, you just have to have pulleys big enough for 1/2" rope. Nylon stretches a little under load, but that shouldn't be a big issue in most applications.

A:  This rope is not to be used for overhead lifting, or other situations where personal safety or valuable property can be endangered.

Q:How much stretch does this rope have in it?

              Answer This Question

              A:  maybe 5%.

              by|May 30, 2018

A:  The amount of stretch varies depending on the strength that is pulling it. For this rope, the stretch is 22.5% under 75% breaking strength.

                by|Jun 14, 2017

A:  Very little. I'd say less than 2%

The rope was of substandard quality. The rope was coiled loosely, but that's not the big problem. The rope had multiple areas where masses of fiber were pulled out from the coils - many areas all through out the rope. Because of this, the rope was weakened and not safe to use to tie off tress that we intended to cut. I bought the rope because it was rated to have high tensile strength. Something must have gone wrong in the manufacturing process for it to be so defective. One would expect a $160 rope to be better decent quality. I had to return it to the store, and doing the return was easy enough, though I bought the rope on-line to avoid going into stores. Oh well. You can buy better quality at a local hardware store.

This rope was purchased to make a tree swing for my grandkids. It was recommended by store associate. Each cut resulted in a major hassle of re-twisting, attempts at burning ends, and ultimately monster taping to be able to feed it through the swing's seat.

This is great dock line and works okay as anchor rhode for small craft. (Under 30’ or 5,000lbs) it splices easily but will wear out if used regularly within a year.
