how tall should post be for 5.6ft galvanized iron fencing, and how many post do I need for 90ft.

            Answer This Question

Posts should be 2' taller than the Fencing because the posts need to be driven 2' into the ground. How many posts needed depends on the purpose of the fencing. If you're Fencing in animals, put posts closer together. General use, you can go 6' apart.

            By|Mar 9, 2026

We have not tested our T Posts for use with galvanized iron fencing.

I used the T-post to hang a deer block feeder. Put some shark bite strips on the T-post to prevent the racoons from eating the block.

Easy enough for a novice to pound in using a small sledge and get it reasonably straight. Used these to put up a temporary privacy screen. Not easy to get back out, but doable, which is exactly what you want. Has held up well during recent winds to 20-ish mph.

The T posts were used in supporting our 78" fence in the pasture. WE put up 1000' of fencing and used one of these every 30' to support the fence i an upright position. They drive into the very clay type soil with effort but are very sturdy. Highly recommend them for your fencing project.

                    Damaged on arrival
Arrived damaged/bent. I'm not sure whether this was due to lack of protective packaging by HD, UPS being careless or both. Regardless, I can't use it for what I wanted. UPS only took a photo of half the product as to not show the damage, lol

10’ t-posts arrived in great condition no rust or missing paint. Drove them into the ground for a garden shade. They work better than expected, their flex keeps the garden shade from tearing up in the wind.
