How strong are these holding up to the wind ?

Asked by: Tim
i have no issue with wind but they are holding up livestock fence which wind blows thru, if you are doing a stockade solid panel fence then i would opt for a 4x4 wood post .

How many posts are needed for a 50ft section of fence?

Asked by: Karma
I placed mine about 5 ft apart so for 50 ft I’d say about 10. I put them up with my husband last spring, easy to install and they have held up nicely.

Would these support chain link fencing material? I would like something stronger than the flimsy welded wire rolls, but do not want the permanence of the chain link posts in concrete.

They shipped to me in sets of five wrapped in a few layers of plastic wrap. Since I bought 10 at a time, the shipping was free, which saved me even more money since I didn't have to try to load these into my car and possibly tear my upholstery or trunk liner. For those of you who own trucks or enclosed trailers, this wouldn't be an issue and you could pick up all you need at your local Home Depot. Now, I just need to wait for warmer weather to install these on my fence.

I bought the last of the remaining stronger steel posts for a garden surround. I had bought at Home Depot last year and although i could get them a bit cheaper at Tractor supply i choose to go locally and not sure if these are being phased out by skinnier steel posts, but knowing i needed the 5 ft post i opted to get all of them. These will match the fence i have around the property for the dogs and they are strong along with the 4 ft fence so i am pleased .

Your feet will thank you. I sort of slipped up using that bottom post to try and drive them... Let the sharp pointy discourage you from this method. Hindsight is 20/20.

Standard weight, not the super duty heavy farm fence type with the large tab on the bottom to give extra stability. Works well for pretty much any wire fence. The tab on the bottom is smaller and narrower than on the heavy duty T-posts.
