When installing or repairing a chain link fence, high quality Everbilt chain link fittings provide long-lasting stability to your project. Everbilt 1-5/8 in Fence Post Eye Top Post Cap sits on top of the line posts and has an opening for a top rail to slide through. One of the loop caps is needed for each line post in your chain link fencing plan. The eye top is made from aluminum and is designed to resist weathering and rust, and increase longevity of the metal fence fittings for outdoor use. The eye top also protects your line posts from filling up with debris. This chain link fence hardware will fit on top of a 1-5/8 in. Dia line post. The opening will accommodate a 1-3/8 in. top rail. A full line of Everbilt Chain Link Fencing framework, fittings and gates are sold separately.

    A:  Grandma, thanks for your question. No - there is no special tool to remove an eye-top. A rubber mallet or prying tool may be used carefully to help loosen the eye-top.
