can i use this on a large coffee table with drawers? total weight may be heavier than 50lbs
Thank you for reaching out to Shepherd Hardware Products! The load rating of 50 lbs is per caster, if you put on 4 casters the total weight load would be 100 lbs. I would not suggest using them if the total weight is heavier than this though because it might cause the stems to bend and break. Am looking for caster that I can put under a desk leg that is only the width of a melamine board - 3/8" (am making a compact desk that has 2 pieces of melamine board for legs) Would these wheels work for this project? Thanks for any assistance with this
I doubt the legs would be large enough or strong enough to support the caster.
I doubt it. The post is 3/8" - 1/4" in diameter and melamine is fairly soft and won't hold the post.
We used these to replace old casters on a dresser.
Thank you for your interest in Shepherd Hardware Products! Unfortunately, we would not recommend using a stem or plate caster for this application. You need the additional stability of a U shaped mounting bracket. Shepherd Hardware currently only has 1 caster with this type of mounting system, it is Home Depot Item #100176190 Model #9420. The wheels might be on width with two boards, but these were cheap. They stopped spinning, too much weight crushed the mechanics of them. I used it on a small end table with a small computer printer.
Would this be an option for heavy outdoor patio chairs that are difficult to move around.

Hi Pat. These are designed for use on lightweight furniture, cribs, playpens and small tables. They feature a 50 lb. load rating. They are not for heavy items that you are going to move around a lot. I don't believe this is the best option for you.
Do these have a combined weight limit if 50lbs or 200lbs? I’m interested in building a cabinet and I need to make sure the wheels will support both the cabinet and it’s contents
I can not certify weight capacity but believe roller weight limit is additive. I am 180 and chair is heavy. For your app check its dry weight and estimate amount you will add. Will your project accommodate bed frame rollers?
