John, thank you for your question. The minimum frame width is 1/2-inch minimum thickness. ~Best, Liberty Hardware Customer Care Team
Rich, thank you for your question. Look for our Model #H70223E-NP-U1, as it is the same item without the soft close mechanism. ~Best, Liberty Hardware Customer Care Team
I don't believe so. There are other hinges available that are not soft close.

I had a similar problem; I mis-guessed that 1/2" overlay would work in my installation (it doesn't). My next step is to actually bring one of my doors to the store and choose the proper setback using the displayed hinges. Unfortunately, when I attempted to "do math," the numbers didn't add up.
The part that attaches to the face frame is designed for 1/2". The other part is inset 3/8" into the door so it would not work for 1/4" doors. The inset is 1/2" diameter.
If you are going to use these hinges, you will need to redo the math for a 1/2" overlay. They make different hinges for different overlays. Not to say that it doesn't exist, but I've never seen an 1/8" overlay. That said, I'm certain they make different hinges for different overlays. You just have to choose what best fits your situation.
Thank you for your question on the H1530SE-NP-CP. Hinges are measured by the amount of overlay a cabinet door has on its cabinet frame. It is measured from the space at the exterior edge of your cabinet door to the interior edge of your cabinet frame - These hinges are 1/2" overlay. These are not inset. Best, Customer Care Team
About an 1/8th of an inch if I'm understanding the question correctly. I used a little plastic template that you can purchase along with the clrrect size Forstner bit. The plastic template has three little holes in it that determine where you drill you hole for the round body of the hinge to set in and two other holes the determine the location of the two screws that secure the hinge to the back of the door. Just be sure to square up the hinge to the bottom and top edge of the door so your hinge attaches properly on the cabinet face frame.
Thank you for your question on the Everbilt 35 mm 105-Degree 1/2 in. Overlay Soft Close Cabinet Hinge 1-Pair. The hinges would likely cause the door to not close properly even if it's only off by 1/4". As the manufacturer we cannot recommend this application for you and will void the warranty. Worked perfectly

I don't have this issue with the ones I installed. They have been in for over one year. Where I installed them I don't open often.
