I don't believe so. There are other hinges available that are not soft close.

I had a similar problem; I mis-guessed that 1/2" overlay would work in my installation (it doesn't). My next step is to actually bring one of my doors to the store and choose the proper setback using the displayed hinges. Unfortunately, when I attempted to "do math," the numbers didn't add up.

The part that attaches to the face frame is designed for 1/2". The other part is inset 3/8" into the door so it would not work for 1/4" doors. The inset is 1/2" diameter.

If you are going to use these hinges, you will need to redo the math for a 1/2" overlay. They make different hinges for different overlays. Not to say that it doesn't exist, but I've never seen an 1/8" overlay. That said, I'm certain they make different hinges for different overlays. You just have to choose what best fits your situation.

Whats the Offset of these hinges?

                Answer This Question

Thank you for your question on the H1530SE-NP-CP. Hinges are measured by the amount of overlay a cabinet door has on its cabinet frame. It is measured from the space at the exterior edge of your cabinet door to the interior edge of your cabinet frame - These hinges are 1/2" overlay. These are not inset. Best, Customer Care Team

About an 1/8th of an inch if I'm understanding the question correctly. I used a little plastic template that you can purchase along with the clrrect size Forstner bit. The plastic template has three little holes in it that determine where you drill you hole for the round body of the hinge to set in and two other holes the determine the location of the two screws that secure the hinge to the back of the door. Just be sure to square up the hinge to the bottom and top edge of the door so your hinge attaches properly on the cabinet face frame.

I want to replace my visible hinges with concealed, soft-close hinges on my 30-yr-old kitchen cabinets. The overlay is 1/4" but cant find any 1/4" overlay hinches. Can I use these 1/2" overlay hinges? Will it work?

Thank you for your question on the Everbilt 35 mm 105-Degree 1/2 in. Overlay Soft Close Cabinet Hinge 1-Pair. The hinges would likely cause the door to not close properly even if it's only off by 1/4". As the manufacturer we cannot recommend this application for you and will void the warranty. I just installed these and had to replace them both already at different times over a 2 week period due to the spring popping out on the hinge and the door not closing. How do I stop this from happening?

I don't have this issue with the ones I installed. They have been in for over one year. Where I installed them I don't open often.

Customers say the Everbilt 35mm 105-Degree Soft Close Cabinet Hinges are easy to install and provide a smooth soft close feature that enhances the functionality of kitchen and bathroom cabinets. Many users appreciate the adjustable closing speed and the ability to align doors precisely. However, a common concern is the quality of the included screws, which tend to break easily during installation, prompting customers to use alternative screws. Overall, the hinges are viewed as a valuable upgrade for cabinet doors, offering a quiet and gentle closing experience.

The hinges were so easy to install! 3 screws and voila! Took years off my old outdated kitchen cabinets with exposed hinges. They close quietly and quickly.

                        No more Slamming Doors
These soft close hinges work well and keep cabinet doors from slamming closed. A soft push towards close is all it takes and the hinge does the rest. We have been building our own cabinets over the past few years and are down to the last doors in the kitchen. They new hinges work as well as the first sets of these hinges used on all the prior sets of bathroom and kitchen doors.

I used the kreg brand jig locate and bit to drill the large hole in the cabinets doors using these hinges. The installation after that was simple, The front to rear and up an adjustment these hinges incorporate made the installation look professional. I used 6 of these hinges to install 3 cabinet doors. The adjustment feature made aligning the doors super simple.

These days if you're going to build cabinets soft close hinges are a must, why have cabinet doors slamming shut when you can use soft close hinges and they will close silently? There are lots of options when you look for soft close hinges and I like these compact ones because they mount easily to the face frame and they don't extend back into the cabinet like others do. The closing force is adjustable too.

These hinges worked great for my needs. I used them on a some 2x that I am using as a partition for a privacy screen. They worked well, the soft close prevents the two sides from slamming into each other which is great. I have a hinge template kit which consisted of a 35mm forstner bit, and a template guide to layout the markings(for the hole and the screw) this worked perfectly with it which is good, as I bought the job a year ago and never had a chance to use it, so I am glad I was able to put that to good use. If you do not already know make the sure the width is more than 1/2" since you will have to drill the 35mm hole 1/2 deep for the hinge. As I get older I appreciate the simple things in life, they mean so much to me now. I love that this kit comes with in a zip loc bag as oppose to a regular plastic bag. This is allows you to keep everything together in case you cannot complete your task in one shot. For me, whenever I work with screw, I try to locate something to keep them in so I can keep them together and not lose them. Glad to know they were one step ahead of me

I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I bought these, other than knowing soft-close cabinets are awesome and I wanted them haha. I purchased the wrong size at first (1 1/4" overlay). Which is how much your cabinet doors overlap with the cabinet frame, btw... Drilling the hole to make the hardware set flush was a little nerve-wracking at first but surprisingly easy. I LOVE that you can make slight adjustments after mounting the door. Slightly out or in, side to side, up or down. And I mean sliiiight. Maybe 1/8" at most. But it makes a difference. Additionally, you can also adjust how soft you want the soft close with 3 click settings. Which is nice for smaller or larger cabinet doors, depending on the weight. My only struggle was the kitchen I'm updating is about 30+ years old. Whoever installed the cabinets did a 1/4" overlay, which I couldn't find that size soft-close hardware... Which is a narrow window to work with. I used the 1/2" and drilled new pilot holes in the cabinet frame to compensate a little. Then set the hardware slightly outside the cabinet door (showing a little) but it was the only way without shimming every door frame.
