Q:How to install 2-1/2 in fixed staple safety hasp on a bedroom door

Answer This Question

A:  The Everbilt 2-1/2 in. Satin Brass Fixed Staple Safety Hasp should be installed so that the slotted part of the hasp covers the screw part of the hasp when closed. The screw holes on the staple side will be covered when the hasp is closed. All of the screws will be covered if installed correctly to ensure security.

      A:  The diameter of the hole in hasp is .33", so the padlock would need to fit a hole that size.

        A:  I used a old bicycle chain lock, it just fit, so I would say 3/8 shank or smaller.
