Hi GreenbeltMarc- The polypropylene has a have a higher load rating that won't develop flat spots under load. The soft rubber caster are more quiet and safe - won't damage flooring.
Hi William, We do not make the plate separate from the caster. The plate dimensions are 1 7/8" X 2 5/8". Hole diameter 5/16". I hope that information helps.
I like these castors very much. There are many factors that go into selecting fasteners such as the material in which they will be used, the weight of the item that will be installed, etc. I think the easiest way to resolve your question will be to take the castor to any hardware store and explain to the employee what you want to do with the casters and what screws will be best. Good luck!
Hi Janet - We apologize for the confusion. These wheels are recommended for hardwood floors and will not scratch or damage the hardwood.
I used the same screws I had for a previous caster I was replacing; I do not remember at the moment.
How can you tell where they're made? I don't see country of origin and would like to buy American, if possible.
no
Why would they make marks on carpet? I am using the casters on a hard surface so I can not tell you how they will do on carpet. It does not seem to me that would be a concern. Were it my decision, I would try them. If they are not satisfactory simply remove them and return them. Does not seem like a big deal to me.
A #10 or #12 pan head screw. You can use as big as a #14.
Only on solid surface.
