I needed a handle for my door to the garage, it has a deadbolt but no door knob, and this pull plate fit the bill perfectly. It is a little thin on the metal plate but it will easily hold up for my application. It my be a little too pretty for where it is mounted, but I like it. Who says a garage entry door should not look nice. The best part is, it is so easy to install. I lined it up where I wanted it and drilled 1 hole, put the screw in place to hold the plate and drilled the other 5. Easy to install, come with matching brass screws and looks great, what more is there?

This worked out great for us. Changed from manual door control knob lock to make doorway simply push / pull entry way. Employees open and close this door 100's of times per day. This made everyone happy with appearance and functionality.

    Several problems.
The product looks pretty nice for the price, but it has a few minor problems that make me regret the purchase: Due to the thinness of the metal plate, I was unable to get the plate to stay entirely flat against the door after installation. I.e., *very* minor misalignment of the mounting screws causes the plate to buckle, forming a noticeable gap between it and the door in some places. Another minor problem is that to fully remove the protective plastic covering, one needs to temporarily separate the handle from the metal plate (via two screws on the backside of the plate). This became a small hassle because I wanted to leave the plastic on as long as possible, but I also wanted to cement the plate to the door early on to avoid the buckling issue I mentioned.

Easy to install and works as expected. It was easy to follow the instructions and was easy to drill into the door we wanted to use this for. It's a lot easier to use the door now with the pull plate, and it looks very nice and feels durable. This is a good application for those who have a deadbolt but no handle, this way you just open the door with the deadbolt and pull on the handle. It's really durable and great for this purpose.

I needed something on the outside of an overhead shop door. There's no handle on the door. I thought this might work even though that's not the intended use. This Brass plated pull plate looks nice. It's finished evenly and fits together well. The plate is very thin and I'd say it's best used for light duty locations. I attached it to the outside of my insulated door with self-tapping screws. It works well for what I want to use it for. The door has no opener and I like to pull it down to keep birds out when I'm working outside the shop. It's now much easier to lift/open with this handle attached. I'm sure it would work just as well on a standard door, and it looks nice, too!

The plate required additional screws in-line where the handles attach to the plate. Since the plate is a light weight gauge, it tends to buckle slightly when pulling on the handle. I solved problem with 4 additional screws, 2 ea. adjacent to both handle connections.

The backplate on these is thin. But once secured with the six screws it doesn't flex. It is brass plated, not solid brass but that's expected for twenty bucks. My major grip with this product is the packaging. With the technology these days of plastic packaging, it's great for the protection of the product, but a real challenge for the end customer. Case in point with this piece of hardware; the plastic covering - it's easy enough to get off of the backing plate, but the handle is encased in the material completely. You have to use a utility knife to shave the plastic off of the handle, pulling it off by hand is impossible. I backed out the screws that hold the handle to the backing plate so I could work on this apart from the plate. Finally I freed it. Then, there's another layer of plastic covering the plate. Make sure you peel that off before putting the handle back on with the back screws. Then, finally, it's ready to mount. I had to put in four of these and it took double the time normally needed.

Handle ripped out after three years of use in 14 unit apartment building. Some fading of the brass coating in the sun. Best to get the solid brass one.
