Q:What Rubber is outer wheel made of? Is it Polyurethane or Neoprene or some other rubber?

Answer This Question

A:  It is advertised as Rubber. Now whether that is natural rubber manufactured from the Hevea Brasiliensis tree is anyone's guess, but I doubt it. A quick check of mine has the appearance of some form of chain polymer, so it could be fully synthetic. If this is really important, you could try contacting Home Depot or the Manufacturer (likely in China) and asking for a copy of the Material Data Sheet.

A:  The wheel is thermoplastic rubber (TPR).

      Answer This Question

A:  It is advertised as non-marking. I am currently using mine on a workbench on a concrete floor. Even on concrete I have not noticed any sort of marking or residue. Unfortunately I have no vinyl planks handy to test this feature.

      by|May 28, 2021

A:  I don't see any scuff marks when I roll it around concrete, so I don't think you will have a problem with these on a plank floor.

A:  Yes! In fact, this is the Everbilt 3" Diameter Swivel Caster with brake. At least, in my case, I came to this question directly from my purchased product page. Regardless, this item is available with foot brake.

A:  Yes there is, because I bought two.

            by|May 28, 2019

A:  Search for item number 4036346EB on Homedepot.com. This is the same caster with a brake to stop the movement of the wheel. Please note that it does not lock the swivel of the casters.

The castors are heavy duty and wheel material is smooth operating. I used for indoor, not sure if they would last on concrete/asphalt. I used the castor so my wife could move her cedar chest around in the bedroom, raised up about 1/2" above floor, still looks like it rests on the floor.

It works okay for what I needed. For the price, should have come with screws.

Everbilt 3" Diameter Swivel Caster Not Designed For Longevity. I purchased these December 28, 2020 to include portability of my bench mounted compound miter saw for use in my garage/workshop. Total weight is around 100 pounds, therefore distributed weight is around 25 pounds per caster. At an advertised capacity of 175 pounds each, this absolutely should not be a problem. Initially the casters performed flawlessly, however as of May 28, 2021, exactly 5 months after purchase, the swivel function binds or fails to swivel. At a $10+ price point, I did not expect lifetime operation, however certainly expected more than 5 months of extremely light usage before product failure. Unfortunately, unless the manufacturer (or Home Depot) implements engineering changes to impact product quality, I cannot recommend these for even light duty applications.

Do not swivel freely or work as described
I am a semi professional carpenter and installed four castors on a workbench. Castors constantly bind and do not move in the direction you want. After some use and having to force the wheels to turn as needed the rubber has chipped in some wheels. Lock is reasonable but if you need something that turns freely choose another model
