A: You could try tin snips. I have found these cut everything (laminate flooring, etc). Link: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Wiss-12-5-in-Straight-Cut-Tin-Snip-A9N/204155040.

A: Yes! We have done the same thing to these pads. We have odd shaped chair feet (rectangle) and cut the pads out of these blankets. They adhere and work great! I hope this helps & good luck!

I like this 'sheet' much better than the individual round circles. I've found that larger squares protect better & stay on the chair tips longer.

Everbilt polyester felt pads do the job they were designed for. These pads stop your floors from being marred or dented. Measuring 0.195 x (3/16") x 4 1/4 x 6" they can be cut any size furniture leg bottom you have. Before applying clean and if possible light sanding before adhering for a longer lasting project. We used the felt pads on a ceramic table we brought in for the winter.

Thick, cut-to-fit felt pads for large furniture feet or odd sized items. But HARD to cut!
The Everbilt Model # 49950 4-1/4 in. x 6 in. Heavy Duty Self-Adhesive Felt Blankets (2 per Pack) are stick-on felt pads, the same material as Everbilt’s felt chair glides, but intended to be “cut to fit” for odd shapes or large items.
The pads are about 3/16” thick and very dense. This is good for protecting wood floors, but means they are difficult to cut. The instructions suggest cutting them with scissors, but those with small hands or arthritis may find this difficult or impossible.
A utility knife works, but is more dangerous.
Unless you need really large pads it will be much easier to use Everbilt’s pre-cut pads, which come in several sizes including ¾”, 1”, 1.5” and 3” circles, and a ½” wide roll x 58” long. Use multiple if you need to cover a large area and save yourself the hassle (and risk of injury) of cutting.
Note: We received this item free from Home Depot’s “Seeds” program. Home Depot only asked that we provide an honest review.

This product is sturdy, the key will be whether or not it stays attached.
My first application was a very heavy dining bench. Prior to applying these pads, the bench was difficult to move along the floor. I followed the installation directions. Cutting them with normal weight scissors was a little difficult, which shows the density of the product. Once installed, the bench now slides easily across the floor. I like that they aren't pre-cut, giving you more options.
Marking the back of the pad was a bit challenging. Neither a pen nor a pencil left any mark. I had to cut along the imprints from pushing down with the pen/pencil. Make sure you use quality scissors.

Package contains two 4 1/4" X 6" heavy-duty self-adhesive felt pads that are designed for use on furniture and other items that require protection from scratching and marring the finish that an item is placed upon. It can be used to protect the floor from furniture where the legs or base makes contact with the flooring, such as a wood or laminate flooring or on the bottom of lamps or other heavier knick-knacks when placed on furniture.
If applied properly, on to a clean, non porous, smooth surface, this product should prevent marring and scratching of furniture and floor surfaces and reduce noise and friction while moving furniture. The large 4.25 in. x 6 in. pad can be easily cut to fit almost any flat configuration or shape. In my case I found it easiest to use an xacto knife or very sharp utility knife, the sharper the better. Product is easy to work with and can be cut into whatever flat surface it'll be attached to.
There are some issues with the adhesive backing sometimes not holding well but when that failed I just used a little woodworker's white or carpenter's yellow glue (like Elmer's or even Gorilla Glue) and until it cured I used blue painter's tape to hold it in place to act as a temporary clamp as that tape holds well for the short time it's needed and removes cleanly.

Excellent. For some reason using and cutting these for chair legs works better than the ready cut pads. They are unobtrusive on the bottom of the chairs, and cause the chairs to glide nicely over the floor. See picture.

These work for protecting floors.
After trying several other products to keep out dining room chairs from scratching the floor, we finally found these were the best option. My crafty wife figured out that they can be cut to size and adhere to the bottom of the chairs and table easily with some glue. They do wear out after a certain amount of sliding around and use but are easy to replace when they get too thin. The only drawback is that they pick up any dirt or pet hair on the floor but this can be solved by periodically cleaning them.

I attached them to a piece of premade shelving I got at Home Depot and they fell off pretty quickly under their own weight. If they always have weight compressing them in position they would probably be fine.
