Are the metal surfaces galvanized? Can they be painted (the Rustoleum product I want to use to paint it black says it is not suitable for galvanized surfaces).

installing this gate caster on a sloping concrete walkway where the gate travels (clearance -1/4" fully closed and 1/2" fully opened). Where should the upper hole of this gate caster be base. thks
Hi Ernie, Our gate caster can handle up to 1-3/4" of vertical travel so it should work for your application. Position the gate where the vertical gap to the ground is highest and mount with some of compression on the spring to ensure good support throughout the travel path. More compression will naturally occur as the gap to the ground decreases, the important thing is to have some compression on the spring throughout the entire travel of the gate.
This work for chainlink fence double swing gate?
I can imagine it being used on a wide opening. You may need two (one for each swinging side). Installation could be accomplished by drilling and bolting through the upright post of the gate.
