Why is this clamp so much more expensive than any place else? I sincerely want to know if I should consider a clamp that costs 10x the clamps I could find elsewhere. There must be something special about it. What is it?

I have a 1 3/4 in.diameter fence tube, can this 4 in. Galvanized Steel Worm Gear Clamp fit snugly around this 1 3/4 in diameter fence tubing.
No this clamp will only reduce to a minimum of just over 3" and will not hold the 1 3/4" tube
Can this be used on something hot, such as an exhaust pipe?
These are galvanized steel but we would suggest using stainless steel for your outdoor automotive purpose
I would not use this on something very hot. It may hold for a short while but not made for ehaust pipes
What size is it for? Fix the specifications! Size says "minimum 3 inches". Description: "Can be adjusted from 3-9/18 in. to 4-1/2 in". Is 9/18 = 1/2? Vent is not that thick.
The dimension specifies the diameter the round clamp can be adjusted to. Etched onto the clamp is 70mm - 114mm which converts to 2 3/4" - 4.5" (approx) this clamps can be adjusted to. Therefore, it should fit around a 3" or 4" duct.
Can this galvanized clamp really be used with an aluminum duct? Will the galvanized finish corrode the aluminum if used for a bathroom exhaust fan duct?
I don't think so. After a year there is no sign of corrosion of any kind. Maybe a problem in a Turkish Bath but I doubt it!
It should be okay to use it. If you are worried try put a large, wide rubber band underneath. Good luck.
I've used this on both bathroom and dryer aluminum duct with no issues.No signs of any rust/corrosion.
