Q:how much space is needed between the back side of the peg board and the wall it is being mounted on, to accommodate the portion of the hook that protrudes through the peg holes. I know the peg board cannot be mounted directly to the wall.

I spread the hooks about 1/8in wider. Using for my 18 volt Ryobi batteries.

1/8 broke on only 5 pounds
1/8 broke on only 5 pounds. Doubting the full 25 pound for all of them. It looks like the connection was not fully fused. Perhaps a manufacturing mistake, but I wouldn't trust to put all of my prized tools on with these.

Cannot handle anywhere close to 25 lbs
Flexes downwards as you start to approach 25 lbs. Could not use past 10 lbs.
Do not get it if you are putting weight on these.
