The 4 in. x 8 ft. Heavy-duty Semi-Rigid Aluminum Duct is UL2158A listed and marked for safe dryer venting. It is ideal when UL all aluminum duct is required by code in some gas and electric dryer applications. This duct is totally noncombustible and has a maximum operating temperature of 435 degree F.
New manufacturing technology incorporated into the duct allows for easy rotation and therefore more durable handling of the duct by the contractor
Semi-rigid product holds its shape to help improve airflow
UL duct is thicker than the standard non-UL semi-rigid version
A: Yes, it can absolutely be cut. You can use tin snips, aviators, shears or any metal cutting device. Just be sure that if you’re going to bend the tubing, allow a little bit extra and don’t stretch it all the way out especially when you need to clamp the ends.

I highly recommend over the vinyl ducts, those get holes and leak over time, by the time you noticed, it already made a mess.

Answer This Question
A: Check your local codes for this question. This is the most durable pipe to use. No flexible pipe connection should actually be more than three feet long, in some cases.
by|Apr 13, 2022
A: As codes change frequently it is recommended you always check your local code book for direction on whether this all aluminum product can be used for your specific application. This particular duct is UL2158A listed and marked.

Not Heavy Duty
Rips too easy. Not heavy duty. Once it tears, it completely unravels. Carefil of the sharp edges.

Like tissue paper
If you buy this product, treat it like an antique. It comes compressed so the 8 foot length is only maybe 3 feet when you buy it in the store. Simply pulling it out to its full length it tore in half. And once it starts tearing, there's no going back. Proceeded to fall apart in my hands like toilet paper in the rain. Don't waste your time with this product -- either go full rigid (best) or fully flex but eitherway avoid this product altogether.

This product is the best I ever have worked with in twenty years. It does not dent easily or collapse. It does not frustrate by tearing apart or not extended as designed to do. i would definitely purchase this product again. It is heavy gage and well worth the money spent.

At first I thought this duct was too rigid to be of much use, but I was wrong. It's much more flexible than it first appears, and the ends are not too difficult to fit over other duct. My only concern is that the ridges on the inside might trap lint when used as dryer duct, but I'm only using it for a short run.
