Q:1. We just installed this gate latch, but it is very loose and jiggles a lot before it actually turns to open the latch. How do we tighten it? 2. We notice the ring edges are not fully powder coated, the gray metal is showing! Rust? Help!!

The Everbilt 6 iinch black decorative gate latch is well made and looks great. The metal is heavy duty and built to last. The ring design for mounting on both sides of the gate is attractive and very functional. The instructions on the package is very complete and easy to follow for drilling the gate, cutting the shaft and mounting the rings on each side. I definitely recommend this gate latch for it's quality and attractive appearance.

Here in the Pacific Northwest, the damp, cool conditions are hard on any outdoor building material. Faced with having to rebuild a gate that had rotted and fallen apart, I was eager not to repeat the mistakes of the previous homeowner, who by using cheap hardware had hastened the failure of the old gate. This 6 Inch Black Heavy-Duty Decorative Gate Ring Latch from Everbilt should give years of service. The build quality is excellent and very heavy-duty. The finish appears to be powder coated and should be quite durable, even in our harsh conditions. The look is very nice - decorative and stylish. Installation is simple, using the included black screws. Clear instructions are provided with the packaging. Overall, this is a very nice product and I highly recommend it.

I picked up this gate latch to add on the main entrance of some fence that I put in about three months ago in the backyard. Judging by the look of it it appears to be made of quality with a nice heavy coating on it that should stand up to the elements for years to come. Insulation looks pretty straightforward and if it works out as well as I think it well I’m going to get another one for the other entrance on the other side of the house

Picked up the gate ring latch for some new fence that I installed a month or so ago. The finish on this gate ring latch appears durable and should hold up to the elements for years to come. After I install it on the main side of the house which sees the most traffic I may get another one for the second entrance gate. Installation looks pretty straightforward. I look forward to many years of use.

Picked up this gate latch for new fence that I put in during the fall. It it quite hefty and will hold up to the abuse that fence latches go through. The powder coating on this latch is quite nice and should help up well to the elements for many years to come. Installation looks straightforward and shouldn’t be a challenge for the average DIY person.

I installed over 240 feet of one of your fence and was hoping to use this as a nice touch on the main gate by the driveway. Insulation looks pretty straightforward and the paint on it looks like it will hold up to the weather for a very long time. I can tell it’s made of quality by the weight of the item itself. Once I install it if it turns out as good as I think it well I’ll get another one for the other side
