This air defuser is well made. All powder coated commercial metal except for plastic stem to control the air flow. Hopefully that holds up for many years. All hardware worked well for my application. Price was fair.

It was my first time installing an 8 in diffuser,...
It was my first time installing an 8 in diffuser, repairing some remodeling blunders and mistakes by contractors that recently renovated our basement. Seems they cut the hole too wide in the sheet rock not to mention how poor and extremely thin it was. The old saying of you get what you pay for comes to mind applied to the workers and material but not diffuser. Diffuser needs longer screws because of previous work, otherwise great product for price.

The unit is working as designed BUT the key that opens and closes the flow of air is not part of the unit it is a stand alone key that we hope will not get lost before the next time we want to open or close the damper.
