Priced right
I used 2 for the tool box I built. I don't remember seeing directions on how to mount them, that was a lot of guess work. I do see on this web site, the measurements to use.

I am a professional woodworker and cabinet maker, and finding a lid support that is sturdy and doesn't break the bank is a challenge. I recently tried this item and it worked perfectly. It installed easily, although I had to move the support a little further from the lid (at a different distance than the directions) to allow adequate clearance. All in all, a well-built product that added to the heirloom chest that I built for a client.

so so product
purchased a set of these for a storage chest I built. first, the L and R marks on the product are if you're standing behind the piece, not in front as most people would think. I installed them both per the instructions and found it VERY difficult to open the lid once installed. So I had to remove one of them to make the lid easier to open. for $3, not bad. any more, I'd have felt robbed
