It says product type electric dryers in the description. So is it not ok to use with gas dryer vent?

It works on all cylindrical vents regardless of what they’re hooked up to.

Can you purchase more rods since those in the kit will not be long enough for my vent? Mine goes up the wall across the ceiling to outside i need more

Yes, Home Depot sells packages of extension rods I think by a different manufacturer, but they work with this set. IMPORTANT NOTE: Be sure to securely tape all the joints so they don't unscrew when you reverse your drill to remove the cleaner from your duct.

Can I buy extra rods? Is this in stock at the Oxnard, ca. store?

Yes to the first question. They are on the web site in case your store doesn't carry them. It is a different company but they screw together I think it comes with six 3' sections.

Do you sell extra two foot rods? Online or in store?

According to the Home Depot site there are two versions of this product, the one pictured here is 8 ft and this https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-Dryer-Vent-Cleaning-Kit-DVBRUSHK-10RHD/205047060. This is a 12 ft version, come with six 2’ extensions and is Cheaper! No separate extension rods are available at HD. Maybe direct from the company?

IF you buy two sets of 4 rods, can you get 24 feet of range? Do they work well with so many conn...

Yes they do. Instead of a second package, HD carries extra rods (I think another manufacturer) that gives you 6 rods for another 18 feet. CAUTION: Just be sure to securely tape (like shipping tape) the connections together so they don't come apart when the drill is in reverse, otherwise you may not be able to retrieve the brush from the vent duct.

Can you buy extra rods? I need more than 8ft.

Don’t use it with any flex duct. It’s suitable and designed to work with rigid sheet metal and PVC/ ABS ducting only.

It’s ok, but....
It’s ok, but it is made of inexpensive materials. I used it to clean the exhaust chute coming directly from a dryer and the extension duct that connected the dryer to the permanent metal exhaust ducting. I did not....repeat did not expect this thing to work as well as it did. If I had a few words of advice it would be to slowly give it power from the drill because the ducting is usually fragile so if you squeeze the trigger like you’re drilling into a stud then you might break the rods. Also carry 2 adjustable wrenches to aid in breaking down the rods for transport. This was my first time using it and it worked great although the instructions were a bit vague. It took 3 runs to get all of the lint out, but the before and after pics show how well it cleans. It’s only $20, but the rods do feel a bit flimsy. Stronger rods, better instructions a carrying case or bag of some kind would be nice because of it’s awkward shape it’s difficult to carry or put into a regular bag for transport. Also if rods had octagon shaped ends on the connector rods they would be easier to disassemble.

cheap plastic snaps easily
A plastic rod snapped while going around a bend. This was within first 3 minutes of me using the tool. Basically worthless.

Purchased 3 sets in order to reach to top of dryer vent (roof exit). All was going well, and 16' into vent the rod broke at one of the couplers. Took me the remaining day and part of the next to fish it out. You can watch videos on the internet of handymen using the same brand with the same dreaded results. May work for short, wall exited dryer vents. Lesson learned. On the hunt for fiberglass rods.

Our dryer vent was seriously plugged heating up the wall behind the dryer. It took two of these units to reach in from the outside opening to the plug...over 25 feet. I was surprised how much lint came out of the vent. This worked like a champ. I will be doing this more often...adding picture so you can see why.

I got 8 pairs of these, I only had one of the extensions snap. Fairly easy to use as long as you have a drill and some common sense. Seem to do what it's suppose to do, clean out the dryer vents. I wouldn't use to many extensions on the flimsy dryer vent ducting.

Did the job. If you have much buildup it tends to push the lent forward into a plug then will not go through. We used our leaf blower to blow the loosen plug of lent out then run the brush through again. Had to repeat this several times. Really needs a couple more sections of rod for those who have a longer vent run.

This duct brush kit was amazing. I needed to use it in a 2nd floor dryer and it removed a wet, tangled mess with ease. I then moved outside to tackle the other end and removed what looked like an animal. Alas, just a lint mess. Highly recommend.
