Plastic shards on top
I was surprised to see shards of plastic on top of the wax. I pulled them off and didn’t see anymore, so I used it as is.

WOW!
An amazing piece of hardware! Waxy and shaped just so. We cannot exclaim enough on how this product works. In one week we experienced NO leak in our toilet at all. Just make sure you install it exactly as instructed.

The Everbilt extra thick toilet wax ring with plastic horn is an essential item to have on hand when called to a leaky toilet. For me, over half the time it is the wax ring that has failed due to the toilet not being secured tightly or the wax ring was not thick enough to fill in the gap under the toilet when it was installed on a new floor that has raised the toilet to high from the flange. The caveat here is that even the extra thick ring may not be enough. I have had to use a standard wax ring in addition to the thick one. The plastic horn really helps direct the waste into the drain.

The Everbilt wax ring is very thick and sticky in order to adhere to the porcelain on the bottom of the toilet for a watertight seal. It has a very smooth plastic horn built into the wax to guide the water into the center of the drain in order to prevent clogging. The floor plate that is cemented into my floor was stretched to the front when the cement was poured so I needed the extra wax in order to get a good seal on the first try.

This is a thick wax ring with a plastic flamge to place under your toilet when installing to avoid sewage leaks onto your floor. What can I say, it appears to be just what I need to change from tile flooring to a waterproof laminate. It is about 1 1/2 inches think, so I am not sure If it is the thickest one out there, but it should work on most types of flooring.

I used this Everbuilt Extra Thick Wax Ring many times. The ring itself does not seem anything special, but it has a few features worth mentioning that I really like. First, it has enough wax to fit any size of toilet sitting low or high above the mounting flange. Back in the 90's, we did not have these and used two regular rings instead just to eliminate any chance of gas and water leaks after installation. This ring works well with 3" and 4" waste pipes without any issues - not much to explain here, it is just one size fits all. The last, and I would say, the best feature of this primitive device to mention is the plastic insert, which keeps the ring properly aligned with the flange during installation and, later during use, it works as a sleeve inside the waste pipe keeping the upper part of the pipe and the flange clean; this makes my life cleaner every time I have to replace toilets sitting on this ring. Oh, and the thin plastic sleeve around the ring helps installation go without touching the wax - after aligning, simply lift it by pulling it up by the hole in the middle (it says on the sleeve around the hole that you will punch open - pull here to remove).

This is the 3rd Everbilt Wax Ring I have installed and I'm very happy with all three. This is a well made product.
The extra thick wax ring provides added insurance of a good tight fit filling any small cracks or openings.
Very simple to install when installing a new commode that I also purchased at Home Depot.
If replacing an existing commode the most work is getting the old one off without a mess. Have lots of old rags available.

I am finally remodeling my Bathroom and changing the toilet is a top priority. A new wax ring is needed and when I came across the Everbilt 3 in. - 4 in. Extra Thick Toilet Wax Ring with Plastic Horn #10, I decided to give it a try. I have 4 inch waste lines and is a floor outlet toilet. This Extra thick Wax Ring will be a perfect fit. It is high quality.
With the newly tiled bathroom floor which is not completely level because of the natural stone we used the Extra Thick Everbilt Wax ring and it will work great. The wax ring has a flange that is raised making it easier to align with the floor flange and has 40 % more wax than other rings so you do not have to double up like I have seen before.
The Wax ring can be used with any toilet bowl and it is designed to keep out smells, gases and pests. The wax makes a permanent seal that will not deteriorate or harden.
There are installation instructions are on the back of the box if you have never replaced a Wax Ring before. That would be me. My son is doing the remodeling and when it came time to install the new toilet he swooped in and grabbed the wax ring, saying “Good job Mom you got an Extra thick wax ring for me”. Wow before I knew it the Wax Ring was set and the new toilet installed. He did not even give me a chance to take a picture of the Wax Ring on the toilet before he installed it. The fit was perfect.
I have another bathroom in my lower level and I will be sure to get another Everbilt Extra Think Wax Ring when my son gets through with this bathroom. We will replace the toilet down there also.
There is a 5 year Warranty and it is assembled in the USA with global components.
I am completely satisfied and will highly recommend the Everbilt Extra Thick Wax Ring to my family and friends.

Having used an Everbilt wax ring before, I elected to stay with Everbilt and this Extra Thick wax ring and horn. Since it is extra thick I'm less likely to have problems with seeping or leakage such as odors or gases. The instructions for installation are very easy to understand, affording an easy install. This seal can be used for any toilet install with a 3" or a 4" waste line. With the extra thick wax, plastic horn and easy instructions, seepage and leakage are a thing of the past. Highly recommended.
