Q:The hole in my tank is round. The threaded bolt is square closest to the actual handle so it doesn't quite fit and the handle protrudes out from the tank. Should I just trim the square piece down to be round so it fits into the hole on the tank?

Q:Everbilt Tank Lever 1000 054 212. Won't quite fit through the opening of my tank. Should I force it with a hammer, shave down the nut, other ? Is there another lever with a slightly smaller nut ? This nut size doesn't appear toi be spec'd out anywhere.

Q:The nut that came with the lever does not screw counter clockwise. It almost seems like it is not made for this lever. Do I need to use a tool to tighten it?

Brass Arm Corrodes Easily with Hard Water
I installed two of these to replace the white plastic handles on my older toilets. After a year and a half, both of the brass arms have broken at the chain attachment holes. One at the second hole and one at the first hole. I thought that the brass arms would be more durable, but the water in Las Vegas, NV proved otherwise. Luckily, they are very affordable. But i will be paying more for handles with plastic arms now.

Chinesium Metal Corroded Quickly
This toilet handle made of the finest scrap metal China has to offer, did not last very long at all. The handle snapped off during normal use, after being eroded away by the natural moisture in the air inside my toilet tank. You get what you pay for I suppose...

Cheap
It is not only inexpensive, it is cheap - as in cheaply made. I had to go to another hardware store and pickup a different one because if you flush with just a wee bit too much force with this one, the handle will get stuck in the down position and the flapper will stay open and the water will just run and run until you pop it back up.

Looks and works great
This lever looks fantastic. When I installed it, I gently bent a curve in the arm to line up directly above the chain. I also trimmed the thin angled tabs on the square plastic housing with a utility knife to allow it to sit flush with the outside of the water tank, and used a rubber washer on the threaded nut to stop it from coming loose.

I’ve a few tank levers over the years. They’ve always been quick and easy installs until now. Sure, this has a metal handle. The in the tank part of the lever is some sort of metal alloy that breaks when bent, so make sure it fits your tank perfectly. Absolute garbage.

The handle is die cast and the arm is plated steel (not aluminum as indicated online). I had to bend the arm to meet my needs and was able to do so with a vise. The handle is small at the pivot and allows the white plastic pivot to be seen as well as a part of the opening in the tank. Not ideal, but only a slight annoyance. Hopefully, it will last longer than the plastic arm version I have been using that keeps breaking.

Looks good and is an excellent value
I got this to replace a toilet handle that had become worn and beat up looking. This handle is made to look like it's metal and does a pretty good job at that. It was easy to install and adjust.
