This heavy-duty Pest Barricade is a plastic surround that completely covers the existing vent cap. It helps to prevents birds and other pests from entering the vent cap and home. This product fits over most 3 in. and 4 in. vent caps.

A:  Hello, and thank you for your question in regards to the Everbilt Pest Barricade For Vent Caps. The fastener needed to attach this product to the outside of your home is size 12 (Philips or Robinson head).

    A:  I would go with the professional recommendation from Dryer Venting Educators to be safe.

      A:  I don't see why you couldn't use it as long as it fits over your existing vent. Your furnace is high efficient and shouldn't blow that hot to harm this cover. It's well made with plenty of venting and keeps the birds from wanting to nest in the vent.

        A:  Hello and thank you for your question in regards to our Everbilt Pest Barricade For Vent Cap. We do not recommend using this type of product over a high efficiency furnace vent as the constant high heat that high efficiency furnaces create can possible start to slowly melt it over time. The recommended type of protection for your vent (for a high efficiency furnace) is a metal screen adaptor.

              Bird Cover for dryer vent
              I will be happy to no longer have birds nesting in my dryer vent. It was a little smaller than the vinyl base around my vent but works. I used 2 1/2" deck screws to screw it into place since it does not come with any hardware.
