You would have to place it in the place you want the door to stop. I do not see how this device can work with a variance in height.

Try pushing the door back slightly to release the pressure as you step on it to release it.

No Idea, recently purchased, 3 months ago. Use it at least once or twice a day. Have not had to replace it as of yet. Stop is rubber type of material, no base of stop on concrete wear indicated.

Will this stop the door from moving in both directions?

No, this product was designed to hold a door with a closer from proceeding to the jamb to latch, and it does not protect the wall behind when opening.

The door stop can hold 8 lbs. of weight.

Will this work with a hollow core door?

It might, but the door wall would have to be pretty thick skin or eventually I think it may be too much pressure in one spot on the door and wind up caving it in.

Took 5 minutes to install. We have a spring hinge door going into the garage, and this holds it open with no problem while unloading the car. No need to bend down. You can flip it down and up with your foot.

Easy to understand instructions , easy to install , less than 3 mins with drill, adjustable rubber foot height. What i dislike the most about this is when you hit the release lever , it only releases halfway up and then you have to kick the other half up . With a normal one its pretty much a one step process , just kick it up...

Looks nice, and it appears that even though it is only a 4" tall unit it is still strong enough to hold an 8' tall solid and spring loaded garage entry from closing. The setting and release function is pretty cool by just using your foot. The only reason I took away one star was because the release latch doesn't always set in the right position (stuck up), or the latch doesn't kick the stop up to original position but gets it half way - this will leave it sticking straight out so you will have to either re-position it by hand or foot. I'm glad I offset it away from the door edge enough so it doesn't jam when the door automatically swings shut.

(What's this)
This is a great looking and functional door stop with a lever that allows you to lift it and close the door without bending over. That might not seem like such a big deal but I'm 66 and I would rather not bend over if I don't have to. The finish on the door stop is attractive and it looks to be made from good materials. It has an adjustment for lowering and raising the rubber foot. Easy installation and it works well.

My dog doesn't like closed doors so I got one over on him with this door stop. This door stop is a nice and convenient way to have a door partially open and having it stay that way.It is made from steel with a rubber foot so it wont hurt the carpet and with the top lever it retracts with a foot press. Now I don't have the dog slamming open the door to get inside.I just lock it where he can get in but not all the way open when I am trying to hold the heat in the room.It works well and I have a couple more doors to install.

(What's this)
A decent, household grade door stop with some convenient features. If you have a door or doors which always seem to slam shut during windy conditions and you don't need an industrial grade piece of hardware, this door stop will fill the bill. The brushed nickel finish is a little coarse, but not very noticeable at the floor level at which it is mounted. A clear-coat is applied over the metal which should aid in prolonging the aesthetics of the stop. Clear instructions are provided for installation, however, the uppermost screw requires a narrow shaft screwdriver due to interference with the retraction tab. Unless you have a really skinny long extension, you will not be able to use a drill-driver for this top screw. Provision is provided for fine adjustment of height, providing approximately a 1/4 inch before the cushion tip is no longer constrained by the end of the metal leg. The more you extend the tip, the more the stop will flex. In my case, installed at the recommended height and the tip fully retracted, the grip was adequate to hold the door from slamming shut. The release tab is a nice feature, eliminating the need to bend over and swing the stop up when not in use. A light press with your foot on the tap and the stop is raised by spring assisted cam action.

(What's this)
I love getting new helpful gadgets and this Everbilt door stop is one of them. It is my first ever step-release kick down stop. I had been using the plastic, slide under the door type. Doesn't always hold it open and have to bend down to remove it or it gets wedged under the door. This door stop is made of aluminum with the oil rubbed bronze color because my door is dark brown and the new flooring has mixed medium brown tones. It looks and works great. The install was very easy. Just measured up four and five eights inches from floor and drilled pilot holes into the door. Then screwed in the new door stop with the three included screws. I like that the door stop can be put down and then released with the foot . No more bending down to do it. Even though installing it four and five eights inches from the floor made it perfect for contact, there is an adjustment just above the rubber foot. I have other Everbilt products and they are all of a very high quality.

The levers on these do not easily flip back up. I have to use my foot to assist them back up. Not a very good design if this is how they are intended to work. I bought 6 and 1 works properly.

Easy to use and install! I use magnetic door stoppers in my house but the exterior back door has the added-on enclosed blinds and won’t accommodate one. This stopper was the perfect alternative. Allows me to prop the door open to pool deck giving my dog access to go outside. Cocoa gives it two paws up.
