    Answer This Question

A:  This will typically be used on a well pump or irrigation pump system. It can be used with pumps that generate between 1-25 gallons per minute. Pumps in that range will typically not exceed 80 PSI.

A:  I doubt there is published ratings for this particular fitting. Assuming it's schedule 40, the maximum pressure of 1" pvc at 73 degrees is 450 psi.

Just finished installing yesterday but seems to be working well. Unless you are running the flush pipe directly into an open floor drain, it needs a joint that can be removed if the drain has to be run thru a wall as mine did. That is so it can be unscrewed if the bowl has to be cleaned.

        great well water sediment solution
I’ve had it for a few years. I found that an annual replacement of the cartridge it better off than manually cleaning it. I do purge the drain weekly to keep the build up flushed out sooner than later. But the cost of 31 annually to buy a new unit is better for me. It cost 27 with shipping just to order the mesh filter cartridge, a few dollars shy of buying a whole assembly. When I buy the whole assembly I just replace the cartridge, clear canister piece, the o-ring, and the valve. This way I have these three critical parts new again and no concern of failure and possible leaks from wear over time. You cannot get all the small particles out of the mesh screen when cleaning it manually so I find it worth while to just replace and redeem the better water pressure-gpm again.

Purchased this filter to protect the 4 zone valves in my lawn irrigation system. It should fit both 1" and 1¼" pipe. The 1¼" fit seemed loose to me, so I bought bushings and used the 1" fitting. Per the instructions it should NOT be exposed to UV LIGHT, so I bought a trash can and placed it upside down over the sediment filter to protect it from the Florida sun. It would have been nice if a cover was included, considering the purchase price. Finally, the flush valve would have sprayed water under pressure directly at the dirt, so I had to buy a ½" 90º fitting, so that water goes into the bushes, and not into the dirt below the valve. It has only been installed for 4 days, so I will have to see if this helps protect the zone valves over the next year.

This Everbilt Filter was the right fit for my well water filtering needs. I was installing a backflow arrestor and realized sediment which can occasionally come through our line from the well could prevent the arrestor from working correctly. So I installed this filter before the arrestor. Easy install, even easier to maintain. You can see the filter to determine if it needs cleaning. Usually a simple flushing through the 1/2" valve is enough, but the filter is easily removed with a twist for a deeper cleaning if necessary.

I just happen to see this sediment filter on the shelf while I was looking for something else and figured it couldn't hurt do I bought it. I installed a new well pump and this inline sediment filter just before my normal water filter , I ca actual see through the clear plastic case if it has small pebbles or other sediment (that alone is great feature!) but cleaning it even easier all I have to do is turn on the valve at the bottom and water flushes the filter out, that is a awesome feature it takes like ten seconds instead of ten minutes to clean the filter!!!! I assume that with this sediment filter I will not having to change cartridge water filter as often now will also save me money. My normally cartridge water doesn't seem to be filling up with sediment restricting the water flow to my home so I have noticed higher water pressures in my showers compared to before installing this sediment filter.

It is the end of the irrigation system. have not used it enough to see if particulates are getting through to clog sprinkler heads. Ask me same time next year. ☺ NOTE: i'm required to give it stars so i unfairly gave it a ***. I really believe it'll be a **** if not ***** but they can't wait.

My irrigation system is supplied by nonportable water. It contains small rocks and other objects, this filter takes out the items that clug my systems diaphragms. So now I only clear the filter every week or 2, instead of unscrewing each sprinklers control unit. Works very well to keep debri from closing up system
