Insecure latch
I bought this latch based on the low price. I got it mounted and my 60 LB dog stuck his muzzle through the gate and was able to pop the latch open to let himself out. Luckily we saw it happen and were able to prevent him from escaping the yard. I can’t recommend this to those with dogs or small children.

The Everbilt zinc plated self-latching gate latch is a solid piece of hardware to use on just about any gate or swing door where you need a self latching piece of equipment.
The bar and latch feel solid and decent weight and the two screws for the bar are inch and a half while the four screws for the latch are an inch.
The zinc plating gives the latch a more refined and high end look if that’s what you’re looking for.

If you’re looking for a latch that will stand up to outside latching and gat usage, consider this as a decent sized latch. It comes with the latch, bar, and 6 screws in total (4 for the latch and 2 for the bar that gets screwed into the door)

The gate late is fantastic. It’s very simple, yet it’s construction is very solid and will last you for a very long time. I like this latch because it only takes minutes to install with just a screwdriver of your choice. The latch has a couple options I like: it has a small hole on the top of the latch mechanism itself to attach a cable or string as a safety so you won’t lock yourself in somewhere , it’s great for a tall solid gate you can’t reach over lot thru to unlock. It also has a hole at eh bottom of the latch mechanism to allow you to lock it. The screws are provided in the package to install it in most applications. I highly recommend this latch.

A simple self-latching gate latch, made of quality galvanized metal, with a brass pivot pin and galvanized screws. The two screws for the bolt look to be #9 and are 1-1/4 inches in length, while the four screws for the latch are probably #8 and are 3/4 inch in length. The throat on the latch is about an 1-1/4 wide, and there is a hole to attach a wire on the top of the latch which can be threaded through the gate so it can be opened from the other side. And there is a hole into which a padlock can be inserted.

This gate latch is great, it is made of stainless steel. It comes with the screws needed to install it and can be placed to the right or left with no issues, I will be replacing my front porch wood door with this new one what I like about it is that it will be easy to open and close our porch door. It comes in different colors Zinc plated, stainless steel, galvanized and black.
