Questions & Answers

Q:Can this pot be used to steam crab legs?

Answer This Question

A:  Hello Ruthie, this multi-cooker should have no problem steaming crab. Just make sure they aren't bigger than the basket. For reference the steamer basket has a 2.5inch depth from the top of the rim to the bottom.

A:  Put water in pot with strainer pot inside and boil water. Add pasta when water boils and just pull strainer pot out when fully cooked.

A:  I bought it specifically for a steamer but find it very useful for other things

A:  Put the water in the pot with no holes. Put the spaghetti in the pot with holes. Lower the spaghetti into the boiling water. Once cooked bring out the spaghetti pot and dump out the water.

A:  So easy to boil spaghetti. No more hot steam just lift and drain. Pasta water (liquid Gold) saved for later use!

A:  Hello, thank you for your question. All parts of this Multi-cooker are removable, so you can cook pasta in more than one way. You can cook spaghetti in the base pot alone and strain when finished, or you can insert the largest basket and cook pasta inside, then remove once finished and allow to strain back into the pot.

              doesn't have a flat bottom
a large part of the bottom is recessed and can't make contact with a flat cooktop.

I haven't used it yet, but thrilled that it seems to be the perfect size and of great quality. Needed to replace the one I had for 40+ years and this one seems even better than that one!.

I was pleased with the quality of the pots but very disappointed when I used them. It took forever to get the water to boil. I don’t know why but it was probably 2-3 times longer just to boil water for one pound of spaghetti (not a lot of water). I’m not sure I will use it.

I have been searching for a basic pasta cooker insert that was fairly priced. I don't plan to use it daily, so I didn't need one of the expensive ones I saw. This 8 qt. stainless multicooker fit the bill. It does exactly as it states - allowing me to easily steam vegetables or cook pasta without struggling to drain a heavy pot over the sink. I've only used it a few times, as I've had it about 3 weeks. The vented lid is nice for allowing some steam to escape. The pot isn't a superior thick metal like my Revere ware stainless, but then the price reflects that too. I would recommend this product.

It's just what I have been needing for mutiple uses. And in stainless steel, not aluminum. Thanks
