Game-changer in our house on well water!
I've had this installed for two weeks now. I'm including photos of it when it was new, the plumbing I created for it with the bypass piping, and now two weeks later. You can see for yourself that the sediment filter has done an incredible job at stopping sediment from getting into our house!
Some background: We live in a coastal area that's (for all intents and purposes) former farmland built on swamp. When our well was sunk 20 years ago, they found a "good" aquifer for it and the water was "as good as it could get". However, the water is full of iron, sediment, and most irritatingly, sulfur.
We have an expensive system that we lease that includes a water softener and a carbon filter that's supposed to get our water to be "as good as it can get" but even with that, it still tasted bad and the smell was really awful. I installed a couple of Kube filters under the kitchen sink and the master bathroom sink, so that water tasted okay...but when I tried water out of one of the other bathrooms while doing some renovation work, it was undrinkable. Long story short, they stopped selling Kube filters so I had to find something else because our water was nothing short of nasty. The company that installed our water softener and carbon filter priced out a whole-home reverse osmosis system for us and that was $15k. I was almost tempted to go down that road, but that's a hefty price to pay, for certain.
I researched around and came across this system here on the Home Depot website. It was inexpensive and I needed something...so I decided to give it a shot.
My first impression is that this was a quality unit. Seriously. The metalwork is first-rate and it's very well put together. I've worked in industrial environments most of my adult working life and this is something I'd see in a lab or a heavy-duty facility. It's really well made, and I was really impressed by just that right off the bat.
It took me about four hours to install the system (I had to build a 2x4 frame for it so it could be in-line with the water from the carbon filter to the house and be above the pressure switch for our well. I used pex for all of the piping and connections and aside from being heavy and having to work in cramped quarters, I was able to get it done by myself (and I'm not a professional plumber, just someone handy with tools). I followed the instructions for start-up and it seemed to work a-okay right from the start.
In the two weeks that we've had it, we've noticed a dramatic difference in our house water. It's now drinkable from any tap and THE SMELL IS GONE. Yes folks, that nasty sulfur rotten-egg smell that so many people on wells have...it's GONE. Not only that, it's crazy the amount of sediment that the filter catches, and this is after going through the water softener and carbon filter...and it's still nasty. You can see how dark the sediment filter is just from two weeks of use. I'm planning on changing out the filters every six months at the maximum because it's doing a far better job catching stuff than anything else we have.
As far as water pressure, it didn't change that at all. I read some reviews where people had a massive drop in water pressure, but I haven't seen that at all. In fact, if anything, the water pressure is better (don't know how...maybe my imagination...but it definitely hasn't gone down).
Overall, I'm really, really pleased with this system. It's a fraction of the cost of a whole-home RO system and our water is what we used to have back when we lived "in town" on city water. I will recommend this system to my neighbors who are having the same issues because I'm that happy with it. If you're thinking about buying it...just do it. You won't regret it (and no, I have no association with the company nor am I being paid or compensated for this review...it's just a system that really WORKS!)

I’m still lesss than 24 hours after the install so I’ll update if anything changes. Install was pretty simple. Just make sure you follow instructions and don’t solder close to the plastic fittings. It’s definitely making a difference in taste and smell. FYI the first filter is white. Less than 24 hours and mine is brown

I installed this water filter to my private shallow well and so far
has performed as advertised. Definitely would recommend for hard
water filtration, has removed iron color and staining I was experiencing
prior to installation.
Also installed an I-spring prefilter to try to extend filter life, time will tell.

I purchased this product from HomeDepot in June of 2020 (my house has lead pipe). I had the unit professionally installed by a licenced plumber, and it the center filter began leaking immediately. The plumber swapped the filter housings around to isolate where the leak was coming from (e.g. the filter housing or the body) - the leak was coming from the body.
The ExpressWater documentation ask that you contact them first if there are any issues, so I did. They asked me to perform the same test that the plumber already did to isolate the source of the leak.
ExpressWater then sent me a new o-ring kit. I installed the o-rings and the leak was still there. Express filter then sent me a new filter housing, and an entire new set of filters. It still leaked - I was sending them images and even a video of the leak too.
ExpressWater then sent me an RMA tag in August 2020, so I cut the filter out the plumbing system, boxed it up and returned it to their facility in California.
ExpressWater agreed to send me a replacement, and promptly sent me another set of filter cartridges instead! - I now have three complete set of filters, enough to filter 3,000,000 gallons of water!
I contact them again with pictures, and got an entirely new filter which was installed today (October 2020). It leaks too.
I've had enough, I've spent $1,300 on this project so far with nothing to show for it, and I am going to return the filter to HD and try to recoup some at least some of my money.

Perfect for a Condo
I purchased this system for my townhouse style condo and it works great. My area has seen an increase in lead so I installed the system to be on the safe side. When friends and family come over they say they can taste the difference in the water. Happy I purchased and replacing the filters is also not so bad. I'd recommend.

So far its really good, I haven't noticed and pressure drop with this system. The filters are large and with a 1" infeed and out feed you'll still get good flow. The water is cleaner and is over all much better.

Whole House Three Stage, Fine Sediment, Iron and Carbon Water Filtration System
The Home Master Whole House Three Stage FilterThe Home Master Whole House Three Stage Filter is great for well water with iron, manganese, and sulfur problems up to 3 PPM combined. Have your well water analyzed before buying (for city water, consider model #HMF2SmgCC). The Home Master Filter Pressure Performance Series uses oversized filters, housings and fittings to ensure your water pressure never falls short. Larger filters require less frequent service, which saves you time, money and inconvenience. The system treats sediment, turbidity, iron, manganese, sulfur smell, pesticides, herbicides and other chemicals to deliver clean, clear water to every faucet and bath in your home without significantly drawing down water pressure. The first stage is a 4-layer depth polypropylene sediment filter: 25-micron surface, 10-micron layer, 5-micron layer and 1-micron inner core, designed for purity with bacterial and chemical resistance. It typically lasts 12 months depending on usage and sediment quantity. The second stage reduces iron, manganese and sulfur: the radial flow design provides excellent filtration with minimal pressure drop (less than 1 PSI) to effectively reduce iron, manganese and sulfur smell in water up to 3 PPM combined contaminant load. The third stage features a radial flow granular activated coconut shell carbon that removes chemicals, taste and odor up to 100,000 gal. Included is the Home Master Filter System with filters, steel mounting bracket with bolts, housing wrench and instructions.See Full Product Description
3-Stage Whole House Water Filtration System w/ 3/4 in. Push-Fit Stainless Steel Hose Connectors and Ball Valve
This whole house filtration system is theThis whole house filtration system is the ideal "point of entry" filtration system for cleaning up water supplies to a home or business on municipal (city) water. Unlike "point of use" systems (like RO systems) that are installed to supply water to a specific faucet, the WGB32B filters your water from the source. This means water from every output in your home or business will have passed through the three filtration stages of the WGB32B. Used as the first stage of defense on the system, the stage 1 housing holds a 5-micron high-capacity polypropylene sediment filter. This filter removes dirt and other various larger sized particles from the water. The second and third stages of the WGB32B house 5-micron CTO coconut shell carbon block filters. Block carbon is more effective than other forms of carbon in that it is finely ground up carbon packed into a solidified block. This means they have a higher density than other types of carbon filters and are therefore more effective in removing their targeted contaminants. The carbon block filters knock out bad tastes and odors, combine to remove over 90% of chlorine from the water and are highly effective on organic chemicals (VOCs) like pesticides and industrial chemicals. If you are on well water or have unusual contaminants in your municipal water supply, you may want to consider the WGB32BM over the WGB32B. For removing the common contaminants found in the majority of municipal water supplies however, the WGB32B fits the bill.See Full Product Description
