Q:Will the salt be ok during the summer months?

A:  The lid will keep rain and snow out of the bin but it is not airtight so humidity in the summer could still affect the salt.

    A:  Yes, the capacity will easily hold a 50 pound bag. The lid does not make an airtight seal but the unit weatherproof to keep out rain and snow. The lid and bin overlap for a full 360 degrees around the bin to ensure all any drainage will stay out of the chamber.

      A:  Yes it can hold 6 or 8 bags I have had this product for a year and it is water proof.The scoop that comes with it is ideal size.So much easier scooping out of this than the bag.

        A:  There is an opening to allow the lid to be locked with a padlock. The lock does not come with the bin.

          A Little Pricey But Good.
          4 Stars. Assembly takes about 1 minute. Just attach the lid with the 2 supplied pins. Seems well built, sturdy enough. Nice they included a scoop. Holds 7 bags of 20kg salt, or 140kg total. Knocked a star off just because for what it is, a molded plastic bin - it is on the expensive side.

                Perfect as a Gardening Tools Storage
                I use this bin to store my gardening tools in an allotment garden. The large capacity is perfect and can accommodate most of my tools, including a pair of hedge shears. The included scoop comes in handy for scooping soil, compost. You can even put a padlock on to secure it if you want to, which is a bonus.
