Yes and no. It can be assembled without the central divider piece, however, there is also a central piece in the door opening which cannot be removed. So, "Yes" technically it can be assembled without the divider, but it will not operate as a single composter because the door opening is also divided into two sections.
Spraying it with a hose should keep the outside clean. Soap and water if you really want to scrub it. You won't need to clean the inside. The compost process is driven by little microbes that do the actual composting. If you wash the inside of the composter you're removing the microbes and will need to add more compost starter to get the process going again.
The unit is flat-packed. There are a lot of nuts and bolts to assemble the 8-sided composter body chamber. It's not difficult, just time consuming. With one person it might take 45-min to an hour. With two people it will take less time.
It depends what you add to it. Healthy compost will have an earthy smell. If your compost smells bad that’s a sign that something is off with your compost process. (1) Not enough oxygen/Not turning enough. (2) Your mix of greens vs browns is off. (3) Too wet. (4) Added too much meat, fat, bones, or dairy which take longer to breakdown.
it has air vents so no it does not stink
Rodent teeth are harder than plastic. Nothing made of plastic can ever be declared rodentproof.
We cannot recommend adding feces to the composter.
