A:  Put into the ground and happy. Looks like growing already.

A:  I believe the 19.00 version you are referring to was the smaller 2.5 Quart version of the Carolina Sapphire Cypress - when it is available it shows up as an option on this page. The variation on this tree that is available for online ordering is a 2.5 Gallon plant

Q:Can this handle full punishing sun? My yard faces east. Plants there get nothing but sun all day. Not only the 6-8hrs to be considered "full sun".

    Answer This Question

A:  The Arizona Carolina Sapphire Cypress is well-suited for full sun exposure, making it a suitable choice for your east-facing yard where it receives sun throughout the day. This evergreen conifer thrives in sunny conditions and is known for its tolerance to heat and drought. Its silvery-blue foliage adds an attractive touch to the landscape, and it can withstand the punishing sun typically associated with full sun exposure. Ensure the soil is well-drained, and consider providing sufficient water during the establishment period to help the tree develop strong roots.

A:  This is an evergreen type of tree so it should be able to take full sun if it also gets enough water mine happen to be planted on the south side of my house and are doing quite well. I would speak to a local nursery though about that. My location is Florida you may get better information local nursery.

Q:Will this plant survive in zones 10?
      by|Sep 29, 2020
      2 Answers
      Answer This Question

A:  The Carolina Sapphire Cypress is well-suited for USDA hardiness zones 7 to 9, and it may struggle in the warmer conditions of USDA zone 10. While it can tolerate heat, it is important to consider the specific climate characteristics of zone 10, which typically experiences higher temperatures. The tree may face challenges in extremely hot and humid conditions. If you are located in USDA zone 10, it's advisable to choose a tree species that is better adapted to the higher temperatures and environmental conditions of that zone to ensure its long-term health and vitality.

A:  I’m in Zone7 and mine have adapted very well. Planted one last fall and it survived cold weather just fine. Just purchased two more in March, planted them and they are doing well too. I have watered them periodically to help them establish root system.

Q:Will they grow in clay soil?
        by|Sep 9, 2020

        Answer This Question

A:  Carolina Sapphire Cypress can tolerate a range of soil types, including clay soil, but optimal growth occurs in well-drained soils. To enhance success when planting in clay soil, amend it with organic matter like compost to improve drainage and soil structure. Ensure proper drainage to prevent waterlogged conditions, as cypress trees prefer slightly acidic to neutral pH levels. Plant the tree at the same depth as it was in the nursery container, water it thoroughly after planting, and mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Regular watering is essential, especially during the establishment period, and it's advisable to monitor soil moisture levels to prevent either drought stress or waterlogging.

A:  I am in N Texas with solid clay. These trees thrive in our soil and full west sun. Minimal water requirements after 6-8 months and grow easily 2 feet per year. I love them. They also stand up to our wind and storms.

            Beautiful healthy trees
Really nice blue color on these gems. I couldn’t plant right away but they did fine on the patio with water now and then. They arrived in great shape, well packaged. Doing very well not w that they are planted. Good value overall. I do hope they grow well.

              Beautiful tree
The tree is 32-33" at the highest point, not including the pot. It appears very healthy. I'm in zone 6b so I'm a little worried about how it will do with our winters. Hopefully, I can keep it alive.

                Great value!
I need 12 of these trees, but started by ordering 2 because I was uneasy about buying online. They’re better than expected and a great value at $34 each! They were well-packed and arrived looking healthy after a 6-day trip from AL to MA. The size is larger than promised at 3 feet each. Nice and full - not wimpy sticks. The top of one snapped, but the tree should be fine. And a little stowaway flew out of the box when I unpacked them, but he’s dead now. I’m ready to order the other 10!
