These hidden shelf support rods can be used to create your own design using repurposed wood or other material with which you may be working. Federal Brace's floating shelf support rods come in 2-lengths for varying depths of floating shelves. The uses are only limited by your imagination. Send us photos of yours.

A: The Federal Brace Floating Shelf steel support rods are designed to be placed on each stud for the length of the installation. We would also recommend the shelf not extending more than 2-3" beyond the end of the rod. Federal Brace Team

Q:will this size work with 2x12 shelving boards

A: The rod is 10" long with a 1.75x1.5 mounting plate. So it would fit, however it is very difficult to drill a straight hole in the shelf without a drill press. Just lying the board on top of rod would not provide much stability. Best practice is a hollow box shelf. Check out the Universal shelf bracket to use with shelving boards.

They do not work well. We had to biy more and differsnt braces . Please check whst msntel your putting up first it eill tilt gireard . Not a good buy!

The support rod is a well made product, Delivery was fantastic. The only reason for a 4 star is the pricing. Two rods are holding up a 3" x 12" x 72" live edge shelf. Very sturdy.
