About This Product

Our Harmony countertop island bracket is a beefy 2 in. x 24 in. cantilever-type bracket designed to support countertops on cabinet-based kitchen islands. Painted and ready to use right out of the box, Harmony is exceptionally easy to install and adjusts to fit granite or engineered stone overhangs ranging from 8 in. to 18 in. D. Made of thick steel, Harmony provides both massive strength and maximum knee clearance under any island counter. It is the perfect bracket to have when you want to be in harmony with others sitting around the counter.

The review is not really for the brackets but why...
The review is not really for the brackets but why they are needed. My counter top sales girl told us we needed them to keep our counter top from breaking. The counter top installers that were sent by her asked what they were and why they were there. They built a structure under the section and these braces were just in the way. Now they hang under my counter do9ing nothing because they don't even tough it.

We are sorry you did not have a positive experience. Not knowing the specifics of your installation such as type of countertop material and amount of overhang we can only comment on our guidelines. Granite, quartz and other natural stone and engineered countertops are a large investment. We recommend there is no more that 4" of unsupported weight in an overhang. Depending on the traffic and use of the counters heavy items even people will sit on them and could cause a weak spot to break. Federal Brace supports are there to keep that from happening. It sounds like your installers did not install them properly as they should have been place in such a manner, shimmed if necessary to support the surface.
