Yes but you need to put down a predator apron around the perimeter of the run and coop. And rats are smart. Look any place a rat can get inside.

does Home Depot carry this in the store, so that you can cut a length less than 50 ft.?

Don’t know the chemical makeup!

What is in this product that triggers the CA Prop. 65 warning?

The wire is a welded wire mesh coated with a black PVC coating. The PVC coating probably gives off some gases while curing, when the fence is first produced. I didn't notice any particular odor. I was using it outside and did all my cutting to size outside on sawhorses.

I’m so disappointed with this product. It arrived with rusted areas. Is it even galvanized??? I don’t even think the wire is welded but rather hold in place with pvc. There are wires loose. Not really sure why they would ship something like this. Do you really think customers would be happy with this? And you question why people keep returning things to the store.

I purchased this wire for my chicken coop. Raccoons got thru the original chicken wire like it wasn't even there. I read several reviews that suggest any hole pattern larger than 1/2 x 1/2 will let the raccoons chew thru. The wire cuts fairly easy with aviation snips. The square pattern makes it easy to follow for cutting a straight line. The wire gauge is light enough to be flexible when putting it on the frame. Once in place and firmly attached it feels strong enough to withstand a pretty aggressive attack. All I can say, after one week is- so far, so good. I make no recommendation only because I have a specific need (keeping out raccoons) and one week is not long enough to say if it will do the job or not. I gave it four stars on looks, feel, strength and ease of installation. Ask me in two months if it is good for raccoon proofing a coop. PS- In the photo you can see the chicken wire still in place. Don't count on that to keep any wild animals out of your coop!

Great product
Strong, heavy and good. Perfect for my garden. Keeps all the animals out. Might need a friend when installing though as it is heavy and not easy to work with
