Product Details
Lightweight yet sturdy, this Fi-Shock 48 in. Plastic White Step-In Fence Post is ideal for setting up and taking down temporary electrical fencing. Constructed with reinforced polypropylene, it is equipped with eight molded clips to hold fence wire or poly tape at different heights. A heavy-duty steel stake occupies the lower 6 in. of this fence post, which plunges into the ground with the aid of a large step-in flange while an anti-rotation spike keeps it in desired alignment. The clips accommodate poly tape up to 2 in. wide and the post does not require insulators thanks to its plastic composition. Ribbed reinforcement allows the I-beam shaft to maintain its rigidity, minimizing the potential for collapse or compromise. It's the perfect fence post for rotating grazing areas and taking on camping trips to quickly erect and dismantle temporary enclosures.
Great for temporary enclosures and rotational grazing applications

A:Â That is actually exactly how we use it. The snow fence was a little taller than the post so I trimmed the top of the fence to make it work.

A:Â No as the cold affects them and with a plastic fence net on them when the wind blows they crack and break. I've had 7 of my 15 break.

A:Â Probably not. I used that light weight orange plastic fence you see at construction sites and it was kind of wobbly even with that. If you're talking the wooden snow fence, I would think not. The spikes seem sturdy, but the plastic post really flexes easily. You'd be wasting your time if you were thinking for sand use.

A:Â This has not been tested for use on snow fences, and we do not recommend such.

A:Â Hi, it depends on if you set the stakes before the ground froze. These are plastic stakes with multiple L shaped hooks for attaching soft fencing like bird netting, and a strong steel spike about a foot long encased in the bottom part. I didn't have much hope for them and bird netting to keep the deer herds from getting to my hostas, but they have done the job wonderfully. Also, I left them in the ground over winter, because the deer dig up the plants in late fall and early spring, and the stakes have survived with no deterioration. [I thought they'd be crumbled by our 2020 9 degree winter.] Two years later, the first stakes are still fine.

Answer This Question
A:Â Yes, it would work if you are installing it into the ground, not asphalt or cement. You might want 2 posts, one on each side of the sign, to stabilize the sign in high winds. To install the posts, use the step to push the metal tip down into the ground. Tie the sign tightly on each side to the clips on the posts. I have used these posts successfully over the last 5 years for plastic garden fencing and they work very well for other purposes as well.

A:Â This product is not recommended for use in hanging signage.
by|Jan 10, 2020
A:Â I would say NO. The post is easily removed from the ground. The install is easy, just step on the tab and push into the ground. It may work for temporary placement. I use them for tempory caution line tape holders for work sites.

I love these fence posts. I use them in my garden and are so easy to put in, and easy to more if need be. I've used them both for trellising and chicken wire . I have some that are 5 years old and are still in good shape. They hold a decent amount of weight, but will bend some if pulled by too much weight. I have never had one break.

Good price, light weight, easy to install, but they will bend with the smallest amount of lateral tension. Great for holding up electric fence wire or light weight fence mesh, but not good as corner posts. Need something stiffer for that.
