Product Details

Fire-Safe is a clear fireproofing spray for use on Hay or Straw. This product is uniquely formulated to resist flame by creating a self-extinguishing barricade that forces fire to burn out before it starts. When properly applied to Hay or Straw, Fire-Safe flame retardant meets NFPA 701 and CA Title 19 Approval No. C-21302. Fire-Safe is fully registered and approved by the CA State Fire Marshal as an interior flameproofing product.
  • Suitable for application on hay and straw
  • Coverage is up to 200 sq. ft./gallon or 1/4 gal. to 3/4 gal. per hay bale, depending on size of bale
  • Dries clear and invisible
  • Treated items last for 3-5 years as long as they're kept clean, free from water, dirt, and grime
  • Liquid samples are not returnable, but they are an invaluable resource to help you select the right treatment and finish for your material

Q:What about palm leaf roofing

Answer This Question

A:  Palm leaf thatching needs to be completely submerged for several hours. Use a container large enough to put the FireSafe in and out something heavy on top to completely submerge. Minimum 6 hrs. Let dry and drain completely. Only for interior use. Flame Retardant will be removed if it gets wet.

    A:  No, I'm sorry, hay and straw only. No fire retardant will absorb on a surface that has water resistance.

      A:  No, there is specific fire testing that has to be completed for Christmas Trees and this project does not have that. FRs tend to speed up the aging process of the tree.
