can you get pictures on how to replace the rope pulley with instructions. ours broke.

The rope goes over a series of pulleys, of which about half are attached to the pole head and the other half attached to the cutting blade. Count these. The rope first goes over a blade pulley, then over a fixed pulley, and this continues until you are out of pulleys; then you simply tie the rope end to where the next pulley would be if there were one.

I have used their warranty - go on line to their customer service (bottom of page and select contact us, then you will see warranty form), send a picture of the broken item and they will send you a replacement. I only buy Fiskars because of their warranty - and they work good too!

The saw works good but the rope is very weak and it is about to get cut from the first use.

The line came off. Is there a diagram somewhere showing how to rethread and to the tie off?

I bought this online and I picked it up and curbside pick up and I didn’t have to wait too long so thank you for that.

I can probably guess the answer but with the fiberglass handle is it safe to use near power lines?

Is the spring replaceable?? Mine got hung up on a branch and was bent.....

It should be replaceable and I would send a request to Fiskars. If you take the bolts out the mechanism is accessible. It is a tough spring and requires some pressure to get the spring back in and the ball bearing in place. I used an ice pick to hold the pressure down for insertion. Have fun!

Weak and horrible cuts
The pruner part successfully cuts 1 inch branches/limbs as described. The saw is nearly useless, taking nearly 15 minutes to cut through a 3 inch limb. The fiberglass pole, is extremely weak and snapped at the head on day 2. Overall, do not recommend this product; however for the price I suppose it's to be expected. There are other versions which cost more, but may be worth the cost.

lost wing nut
I really love this tool, but there's something that bugs me. The way the saw blade is mounted is with two welded studs, one smooth and one threaded to accept a wingnut. I remove the saw blade to use the pruner, tightening the wingnut so I don't lose it. It comes with a rubber o-ring to provide tension on the nut, which I thought I'd tightened enough to take the vibration of pruning, but I was mistaken. I lost the nut and o-ring. thought it looked like a 10-24, but I was wrong. Now I don't know how to attach the saw blade. Otherwise, I love it!

(What's this)
This tree pruner is actually two tools in one. It includes a regular pruning head that will cut limbs up to 1 inch in diameter. The pruning head is actuated using a pull string and pulley system for extra force. Above the pruning head is a regular limb saw for cutting those larger limbs. The pole is 12 feet when fully extended, and locks in to one of 3 lengths using a button and friction lock - this ensure no chance of movement or that the lock will vibrate loose during use. Please watch my video for an explanation about how these things all work together.

(What's this)
This extending pole saw is great! I used to have one years ago and improvements have been made on the design. The extension rod on the old models used to twist-lock which was not reliable and hard to work. This new style has a snap lock which is easier to work and more reliable (see pic) and also has a red line indicating the extension is maxed out. I was able to cut limbs up to 1" with little difficulty (see pic) and the 12' range on the extension is nice. This is a good saw for pruning the hanging limbs without the need of a ladder.

Seeds Program Review
(What's this)
I love Fiskars outdoor tools, they are so Poplar! While in my backyard, I was over-elmed by the overgrowth of some of my trees. The branches were out of reach, leafing me stumped with how to give them a proper trim. I wanted them to look beyond Oak-kay so I got my trusty Firskars pruner! No need for a ladder anymore. Fir example, the 7ft pole extends to 12ft quickly and easily. Its only 7lbs so not terribly heavy. The saw blade was easy to attach with the included wingnut. I did not have any issues with it coming loose during use. However, it is probably a good idea to inspect it before each use. The pruner can cut branches up to 1in thick and is easy to use with the given rope handle. The pole is easy to hold, but I wish it included some sort of grips on it. I'd recommend wearing gloves if using it for long periods to prevent blisters. Sorry for all the Sappy puns ;) Full Lifetime Warranty

Great for limited use...But
This looked like a decent trimmer/tree saw, and it did work for a while. I have several Mexican fan palm trees about 8' to 15' tall and this did the job for the first few trimmings, then the rope becomes disengaged and it's a bear to get it back on. Then the spring popped off in the bushes of course and it's pretty much trash now!

So far the fiskar 12' has worked really well at heights of 8--12' on 3/4---1" thk branches. Haven't yet had problems with the wing nut holding blade but might get blade flexing and losening on larger thicknesses. Would definetly recommend on light duty backyard jobs.
