Will the saw be able to cut a 3"-4" branch ? How strong is the blade or saw ? I noticed you called it a blade & others you said a saw. What is the difference ? If not what would you recommend for smaller branches & up to 2",3" or 4".
Asked by: Robin
Probably not, saw is very flimsy

Why does the top part where the blade goes into keep bracking..That is 2 now. I am just cutting small branches.

I have never had one break. I have had 4 over many years. I think you may be taking too long of a stroke. Short up and down and you will be fine. It may take a little extra effort but well worth it. Good luck.

Actually fairly simple. Just place the blade over two bolts and secure the wing nut

1 in. Cut Capacity Steel Blade Fiberglass Handled 12 ft. Tree Pruner is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 306.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for "Sprucing" up your trees! I love Fiskars outdoor tools, they are so Poplar! While in my backyard, I was over-elmed by the overgrowth of some of my trees. The branches were out of reach, leafing me stumped with how to give them a proper trim. I wanted them to look beyond Oak-kay so I got my trusty Firskars pruner! No need for a ladder anymore. Fir example, the 7ft pole extends to 12ft quickly and easily. Its only 7lbs so not terribly heavy. The saw blade was easy to attach with the included wingnut. I did not have any issues with it coming loose during use. However, it is probably a good idea to inspect it before each use. The pruner can cut branches up to 1in thick and is easy to use with the given rope handle. The pole is easy to hold, but I wish it included some sort of grips on it. I'd recommend wearing gloves if using it for long periods to prevent blisters. Sorry for all the Sappy puns ;) Full Lifetime Warranty

The Thumb screw (wingnut) does not stay tightened and if using the rope pull limb cutter you find the extension is too long to be able to use as the rope is too short. Further difficulties with this is the saw blade is very thin and tends to prevent you from making a quick FORWARD thrust cut. I do not recommend buying the unless you like to be disappointed with the time loss making sure your blade stays in place while clearing smaller limbs with the knife cutter.

Limbs up to 3/4 cut quickly and easily it does cut larger but considerable more effort is needed when extended out further. The reach was perfect for a mature crabapple tree. Handy tool

Using a wood pole trimmer was very difficult due to it's weight. This lighter weight trimmer should saved a lot of effort. The mechanical advantage provided in the cabling system also makes cutting through the larger limbs much easier.
