Answer This Question
Hi Reese,This is a great question! We do not recommend using FloorPops on walls or vertical surfaces. Instead, we'd recommend our WallPops Peel and Stick Backsplash tiles or NuWallpaper Peel and Stick Wallpaper. Happy decorating!

Vinyl floor tiles with self adhesive back.
The tiles are vinyl material with a textured low luster top finish. This pattern has an off-white background with shapes of different shades with several colors of grey from light to dark. Each tile has a hexagonal shape with 5 and 3/16inches on a side. Each measure 9 inches side to side and 10 3/8inches tip to tip. The tiles come in boxes of 10 tiles per box and purchased as two box sets.
These tiles have adhesive that sticks the tiles to a flat surface like a kitchen floor, bathroom floor, sewing room floor, or as small as a closet. It could also be used on a wall as a backsplash over a non-textured wall.
I liked the pattern and colors of the tiles. I tried to find similar hexagonal tile that blend in with this pattern for the edges. Keeping the same exact dimensions of the Hexagon limited what I could find.
The tiles need to bond onto the application surface. Rough or non-flat surfaces do not allow the tiles to stick. There is a Latex primer recommended when you want to put tiles over flat (but rough) concrete or over flat or minorly rough wood. Surfaces that have moisture present also do not work with the adhesive. The primer helps this also.
Getting the tiles to be absolutely straight is not easy because they are Hexagonal. If you try to make all your connections very tight, the ability to keep the shape is, oddly, hampered. I used a 4’ long level to create a straight edge. I had a helper to hold the straight edge while I placed the tiles.
I found that I had to rotate each new tile by one or more 1/6 of a turn to align the pattern until the tips of the black, 3 pedal flowers (and the triangles) meet without being offset. I trimmed the excess wrapping paper off on 3 sides so I could fit the tiles tight enough to check alignment.
I roughly laid the tiles out over the floor surface to see how to adjust the overall floor so that the edges of the floor could be cut to a straight edge. Molding at wall edges can help eliminate unsightly cuts. This is NOT a floating floor so cutting close to edges is fine.
When I finished removing the protective paper and laying out the tiles on my work surface, I found that I had fingerprints from touching the adhesive surface and transferring the glue to the black color at some of the tile corners. I found you must touch the adhesive with your fingers (or gloves) because the backing is difficult to remove. Take care to not have that finger press a thumb (or other finger) that is used to push down the corners of the tile. I needed to align the tile before unwrapping the paper over the adhesive. I cleaned my fingertips when the placement of each tile was complete.
After the tiles were in place, I cut the tiles to create a straight boarder. Using a box cutter combined with a metal straight edge seemed to work best. Cutting with shears also worked but you had to cut in the direction that did not create a rolled edge on the useful part of the tile.
Not sure why, but, according to the documentation, the tiles need to be kept at a temperature between 55 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit after installation. My home in the mountains has nights where the temperature is closer to 50 degrees.
The Home Depot On-line listing for the tiles says you get approximately 4.5 square feet per box 0f 10 and they are sold as a set of two boxes. I bought a two box set sells for $39.89 and yet the website details say this is $8.84 per square foot. Using actual dimensions and the cost, it is closer to $4.10 per square foot.
