A: Hello Zeke, Thank you for your question. The Floortex Ultimat has been tested to withstand weights up to 250 which includes the weight of the user and your office chair. If you are looking for a mat that has a 300-pound weight capacity, we do have our Floortex Megamat that is tested to withstand weights up to 500 pounds, this includes the weight of the user and office chair. You can find this mat on Home Depot by searching item ID: 312079796. Alternatively, we also have Glass Chair Mats available which have a higher weight capacity of 1000-pounds which includes both the weight of the chair and user. You can find these mats on Home Depot by searching item ID: 312079806 for size 36" x 48" or item ID: 322374055 for size 36" x 42". A: My guess is the grips on the bottom are made for thicker carpet and it may not sit flush against your carpet causing the mat to flex and become damaged.

A: There are cheaper mats that are the same size and quality for thinner carpets. This one has longer spikes for the thicker carpets.

A: Hello Richard, Thank you for your question. This mat is still suitable for carpets under 1/2" thick. With our chair mats the chair mats designed for deeper pile carpets, like this one, are thicker to allow more support on thicker pile carpets. There would therefore be no issue with using this on lower pile carpets.

Not happy

This mat moves across the floor over the course of few hours. The spikes on the bottom are not straight down, and so they push to one side as the chair or person moves, forcing the mat as a whole to also move gradually, bit by bit, until it's completely not where you wanted it to be.

"Nails" or rounded spikes on bottom too shallow

I am returning this after having it shipped to a local store/picking it up today. The thickness of the mat is okay BUT, like a cheaper/thinner chair mat we had before buying a new, pusher area carpet from Home Depot the mats won't stay put on our new thicker carpet in front of our computer. The spikes/nails on the bottom are too shallow and not sharp enough to hold the mat in place and it continually migrates off the carpet--really moves around a lot whenever you roll on it in a computer chair. I don't understand why ALL the manufacturers now seem to only use rounded spikes or cleats on chair mats. Spikier ones may need more careful handling so as not to hurt your hands but they do actually work. These gutless, not-spiky-enough kind everyone is selling now just don't work on a thicker carpet (ours is really not that thick, just under 1/2".) Very frustrated about this because the product supposedly for plush carpets isn't carried in stores, you have order online only to find the deficiencies upon delivery.

Completely satisfied with this chair mat. It does shift to one side a bit and must be readjusted periodically, but I have NEVER met a chair mat, regardless of price, that doesn't do that. This mat is nicely rigid and the chair wheels do not make dents in it that keep you trapped and unable to move without a fight. Would unhesitatingly purchase again.

The chair mat ships flat so you don’t have the curled edges

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a 5* review! Our smaller chair mats ship flat however, a great characteristic of our polycarbonate chair mats is that they retain their original shape instantly when unrolled so even our larger sizes which have to ship rolled due to shipping restrictions will go flat as soon as they are unrolled, unlike traditional PVC mats which can take up to 72 hours to lie flat.

Worth the extra money. Heavy duty. My chair glides nicely on my deeper pile carpet. I had a cheaper mat and it fell apart in less than a year.
