Does the motion detector also work to turn the water off? Can the water be turned on AND off with the motion detector?
Asked by: dd
Reviewer McKinney and others should be aware that the faucet does not have to run for 3 minutes to shut off the water. The motion detector will also shut the water off just by waving your hand in front of the sensor again.

I was skeptical about automatic water dispensing faucets but decided to give this one a try because I got it for half price during the holiday sales period. Set up was easy. I like the fact that the nut holding the faucet in place underneath the sink is one where you handturn to tighten, then utilize two set screws built into the nut to further tighten the faucet in place as a phillips screwdriver was all that was needed. You will need a drill to secure the sensor component to the back portion of the cabinet underneath the sink. Pay attention to the suggested measurements to maximize the sensors capabilities. After getting used to it, our whole family loves the new faucet. Not having to touch the handle except for desired flow and temperature is a plus, and even then, just find the flow and temperature setting for most kitchen duties and you are set. The sensor is responsive and I have no issues turning it on or off.

Faucet neck is loose and turns back to the middle when moved from one side or the other. The main cause of this is: 1. The tension from the pull-out sprayer weight 2. The cheap plastic assembly that the neck pivots on isn't tight. Both of these causes are manufacturer defects, not installation failures. It really is a pain when you shift the faucet over to one side of the sink to wash dishes and it slowly returns to the middle. Another inconvenience is the diameter of the faucet water line. It is noticeably smaller than my previous faucet and I would say it takes about 50% longer to fill anything. My supply lines are 1/2" so i would say the faucet lines are 3/8" or smaller. The motion sensor works as advertised but I would look for another brand, I had buyers remorse immediately after installing this. I have owned it for about 2 weeks. Finish on the faucet looks good. Under sink mounting was easy for the motion sensor hub. But function is awful.

Discovered a drip from inside the faucet. Company service rep diagnosed it as a leak in the line to the aerator and sent replacement line. Unfortunately, the replacement line leak at the connection to the valve box. Excellent company service rep sent another replacement line and a replacement valve box. Unfortunately, also leak at the same connection. Excellent company service rep sent a replacement faucet. Took the line from the replacement faucet and plugged into the installed faucet . . . everything work as supposed to. Very happy with the faucet now. Pro: excellent customer service, beautiful faucet, good features. Con: seem to have problems with replacement parts.

Since no one could figure out how to repair it I decided to buy this Flow Motion faucet as a replacement. Within a month this faucet developed exactly the same leak, what luck! Small drips of water were leaking out of where the handle joins the base. I contacted BioBidet and then sent me out a replacement cartridge (after I had to agree to a waiver on the warranty). I then had to ask for instructions one how to replace the cartridge (weren't included with the cartridge). Turns out special tools are required to remove a couple of retaining rings once you remove the handle. I don't have "special" plumbing tools. So my only options are rip the faucet out and try to return it, hire a plumber at $150 hour + trip charge to install the cartridge or just live with the drip. I guess I'll be living with the drip. Other than that, it works great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Newly installed then hot water stopped flowing.... I bought this faucet from Costco BioBidet Flow UP7009-1-5. Excellent value and truly excellent quality and encouraged by the reviews. My plumber installed it November 14th, 2018 and it worked super! Then within a few weeks the hot water flow began to decrease. Over several weeks it was down to a trickle. I suspected it may be that my hot water shut off valve under the sink failed and got stuck in a nearly closed position as I tried to adjust it . My plumber put a new valve in and opened it fully but it didn't help. (so now I have hired the plumber two times!) Also checked the filter as per the instruction booklet but nothing was blocking it. The faucet was allowing full pressure on the cold side but a trickle of flow in the full hot position. I have been boiling water to wash dishes for the past weeks and now realize I need to replace the faucet and hire the plumber a third time. The excellent value of this faucet is no longer. I am hoping that there is an easy fix for this perhaps just replacing the sensor box? My experience has been a bit disappointing and frustrating. It is a beautiful faucet though and I hope the fix won't involve another visit from the plumber!!

We've loved this kitchen faucet since we adjusted to leaving the handle in the "on" position. Just waive of a hand or dish in front of the sensor to turn the water on and off. No more hand prints, dirt and smudges to clean. Also the handle sprays water when extended, then automatically shuts off when returned in place. It's wonderfully easy to use and looks great in our remodeled kitchen. We highly recommend the flow motion faucet.

I purchased this faucet because I had been thinking of getting a touchless faucet for some time and it showed up on the Home Depot site as the deal of the day. I had it installed professionally because, while the instructions were easy enough, plumbing is not one of my things. At first I was disappointed a bit because I didn't realize exactly how the touchless part worked. I thought the handle could still be used manually while the sensor turned the water on and off, but instead, it's one or the other. That said, the touchless feature is a great thing once you get used to how it works and I have no complaints. I made sure the plumber mounted the control underneath so that the batteries would not be a pain to replace. And due to medical issues, I have to use the sink to wash my hair often. The touchless feature makes this easy as the water temperature remains the same every time I use the sensor to turn the water on and off, and I don't waste as much water as I used to. I have already recommended this faucet to everyone I've shown it to!
