Q:what happens if I lift off the tank lid ?
by|Nov 8, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question
A: Not understanding the question or the context of it. If you lift it up then you will be able to see the black canister in the center and the fill valve on the left. The push button rods are going to be attached to the lid in the middle to the push button so be careful you don't snap them removing the lid. I HAVE TO RECOMMEND THIS VALVE. There is no other dual flush replacement valve for Glacier Bay toilets.
This is not the same valve that came with my 5 year old Glacier Bay toilet. My old valve was white and larger. But the manufacturer confirmed that this is the only replacement dual flush valve available for my toilet.
CAUTION:
1. If you have a Glacier Bay toilet with a larger valve DO NOT SET THE WATER LEVEL AT THE SAME DEPTH.
2. I had to set my fill valve to add 3 more inches of water to get my toilet to flush correctly.
3. THIS FLUSH VALVE WILL NOT FLUSH LIKE YOUR OLD WHITE VALVE. I learned this after my first failed attempt to fix my toilet.
4. THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT CAME WITH MY REPLACEMENT VALVE (AUG 2019) DID NOT TELL ME WHAT THE WATER DEPTH SHOULD BE.
My recommendations:
a. DO NOT CUT OFF THE SMALL TUBE at the same depth as your old white valve.
b. BUY AND USE AN ADJUSTABLE FILL VALVE so you can fill the tank with more water with at least 3 more inches of water..
My water depth is set at 8 3/4" my toilet flushes great now.

We bought an Alexis High Efficiency Dual Flush Toilet Quality Craft Toilet from Sam's club about 6 years ago. We had trouble with the valve seal leaking a while back and couldn't find a replacement for it so my husband turned it over and it worked for a while. It started leaking again and still no parts to be found, anywhere. So he replaced the whole dual flush valve with this replacement dual flush valve for Glacier Bay from Home Depot and it works perfectly. Now we will be able to get parts, if we need them, from Home Depot.

does not fit 215-583. staff said buy new toilet
i have been trying to repair 1 of 3 of our glacier bay dual flush toilets.
spoke to corporate 800, they said they only take orders, contact store for support.
spoke to multiple staff, on multiple occassions.
they keep suggesting this item, which i told them is the wrong one (too short).
spoke to 2 diff managers.
finally, they said, they don't recommend dual flush to other customers, its just a gimmick.
told me to buy a new single flush toilet.
wow.

This is the correct part that goes in this model toilet. It would be the same one that Glacier Bay would preinstall in the majority of their toilets out of the factory. 3-in Dual Flush Complete Replacement Kit With Handle
Smarter Flush 3 in. Dual Flush Complete Kit comes with dual flush valve, black donut gasket, 3 stainless steel bolts and nuts, heavy duty fill valve, overflow water conserver, and easy to follow pictured instructions (English and Spanish). The 3 in. Dual Flush Complete Kit works with nearly all major toilet manufacturers. The Complete Kit is easy to install and will save you both time and money by reducing maintenance and saving water daily. Confirm the size (2-inch or 3-inch) of your toilet before ordering to assure selection of the appropriate Smarter Flush product. Determining the size of your toilet can be accomplished by performing one of the following exercises: (1) If your toilet has a rubber flapper, measure across (or the diameter of) the flapper. A 2-inch toilet's flapper will measure a little larger than 2 inches. A 3-inch toilet's flapper will measure a little larger than 3 inches. OR (2) If the discharge hole opening looks about the size of a baseball or an orange, then you have a 2-inch toilet. If the discharge hole opening looks about the size of a softball or a grapefruit, then you have a 3-inch toilet.
