Potentialy saves wasted water for toilet bowl (not tank) filling
Home Depot review 4/23/2020 for the Fluidmaster Water Saving Refill Tube and Clip, with Adjustable Roller Clamp (model 215). If your toilet bowl finishes filling before the toilet fill valve finishes filling the tank, then this product can save wasted water that goes down the drain by reducing the water flow into the bowl. (Lightly mark the bowl water level with a pencil and flush the toilet to check). This attaches to a standard fill valve and replaces the existing refill tube that routes to the overflow/bowl fill tube. Some people have commented about the reason for the clips. Standard refill tubes do not have clips that secure the tube to the endpoints. However, if the roller clamp is engaged to reduce flow, this increases the back-pressure at the tube connection point on the fill valve. This might result in the tube popping off. There's no such issue on the other end of the tube (other side of the roller clamp), but putting a clip on each end takes care of installing either end of the tube to the fill valve. Note that the roller clamp itself is difficult to adjust. I suggest soaking the entire tube in very hot water before installation. Then, depress and then roll the clamp slightly to get it started. Install the tube and then adjust the roller clamp as desired. Heat up with a hair dryer if the cold toilet water is making the roller difficult to adjust. If you are installing a completely new fill valve anyway, I recommend skipping this part and using the Fluidmaster 400H valve which has an integrated bowl valve that is much easier to operate compared to this refill tube roller clamp.

I have 3 toilets. Current refill tubes were somewhat "moldy" so I wanted to replace then. Old hoses had to be pried off using a small flathead screwdriver. HD didn't have just the tube so I tried this model. Bought 2 packages. I was able to cut the hose in half & use it for 2 toilets. I didn't need the roller clamp so I removed it. The water level in the toilet appears appropriate. Didn't really need the hose clamps either, hose fit very snugly. I like the clip for the toilet fill. Nifty.

This is very effective. The ghost flushing is gone. There is still a little water dripping after when flushed(I think it is an easy fix). Overall handy and affordable.Michael C.

bought in the store. description is wrong here. It controls how much water goes into the bowl WHILE the tank is filling. If you watch after flushing, the bowl just keeps getting more and more water until the flush valve shuts off and has completed filling the tank. Watch the bowl, you'll see the level goes down, it's seeking the level where it stops going down the sewer because it has dumped too much water in the bowl. This device allows you to slow the bowl filling so it ends up at about the right level by the time the tank is full. This device works great and saves a little water after each flush.

Luckily, I tried to turn the adjustment wheel before installing to discover that the wheel is almost impossible to turn - making it essentially useless. If you buy it anyway, try turning the wheel before the install .

Very cheap quality of plastics. Both blue clamps broke when lightly touched, and the clip that supports the fill hose broke while trying to attach the hose to it. Not worth the time having to go buy a better product.

Every toilet should have one of these! You will be amazed how much water could be saved. Why have the bowl overfill with good water going down the sewer every time you flush? When I moved into this place the fill hose was kinked and the bowl did not fill correctly. I took the kink out and noticed the toilet ran much longer than needed as the majority of the flow was not into the tank but into the bowl. Sorry but water is going to be the next BIG problem everywhere. There is not enough to go around. Use it but DO NOT WASTE IT. THANK YOU FLUIDMASTER.

            Great water saving device
I installed this on a Fluidmaster 400A fill valve on a Mansfield toilet with a model 160 tank. I checked my toilet before purchasing the adjustable refiil tube. I found that the toilet bowl got full 16 seconds before the tank was full and the water shut off. This means 16 seconds of water coming though the refill tube was wasted every flush. Went to Home Depot the same day to pick one up. Easy to install and ended up with it on #6 setting. Just think how much water is wasted by this one issue alone and it could be saved by using this simple little device. You would think it should be code on all toilets.

The Fluidmaster Water Saving Refill Tube works great!
The Fluidmaster Water Saving Refill Tube works great! Plenty of tube length and easy to adjust the water. Love the blue hose clamps (the tube was snug enough but the clamps was still nice to have) The rest of the review is for pjc999 To start, the Fluidmaster Water Saving Refill Tube is for saving water in the bowl, not the tank… The purpose of this tube (properly installed) is to divert some water (during refill of the tank) into the overflow tube to the bowl for proper bowl water level (in the bowl only not the tank). What is nice about the "blue refill roller-ball clamp" (I will call BRRBC) on the filler tube, is that you can lessen/restrict the amount of diverted water into the bowl and therefore saves some water. (When adjusting the BRRBC, it squeezes the tube's hole (closing the hole thus reducing the amount of water that can be sent to the bowl.) Most toilet filler tubes without the BRRBC will fill extra water to the bowls proper water level and over flow the rest in the bowl (until the tank refills completely) down into the plumping attached to the toilet and out to the septic for which is nothing but wasted water not to be used (kind of money down the drain). If this is kind of confusing, just get an 8oz glass and fill it with water and stop filling when the water reaches the very top of the glass. (With the BRRBC properly adjusted, it will do the same thing in the toilet bowl) NOW, put a few more ounces of water in the glass and notice the water overflowing and the wasted water going down the outside of glass and onto the counter and floor (unused and wasted water). Notice the glass of water is still filled to the correct level BUT there is also unused/wasted water that can’t be used. And that’s about it. I hope this has helped. As to adjusting the BRRBC, that’s something you will have play with until you feel it is adjusted correctly. If it’s too much to play with, than simply stick the filler tube into the overflow tube and make sure the toilet works (flushing and filling up) and move on to the next project. Oh, one more thing, when the tank water level is reached and the water is cut off, everything stops. The bowl fills ONLY when the tank is filling up.

              Why does this work?
I am having flush problems with my American Standard toilet. AS sent me a replacement filler with the water-saver included. Please explain how/why this restricts the amount of water entering the tank? Fill water is directed into the overflow tube which allows the bowl to fill and thus the tank. What shuts off the flow to the bowl? Not the water-saving feature on the fill line. If so, explain or is this a FluidMaster marketing thingee. Pat
