About This Product

The Freeman P13INLC 13 in. Laminate Flooring Cutter cleanly and easily cuts materials up to 13 in. wide and 12 millimeters thick without splintering or chipping. This must-have, highly efficient construction tool eliminates the need for a noisy power saw and works great on laminate, thin engineered wood, cork, rubber, resilient, vinyl, VCT, and more. The spring-loaded cutting mechanism provides smooth consistent pressure to assist with precise cuts. It comes with a razor-sharp blade right out of the box, which can be re-sharpened as well as replaced to prolong the life of this durable tool. There is also a safety lock to prevent the blade from moving when not in use. The extended handle creates extra leverage and increases cutting power with minimal effort. The base is also extended to reduce plank movement, increasing cutting accuracy. These outstanding features combined with an angled miter gauge to customize cuts from 0 to 45 make this the perfect laminate flooring cutter for DIY home improvement and repair projects as well as professional flooring installation jobs. The 13 in. Laminate Flooring Cutter is covered by Freeman's 1 Year Limited Warranty.

Q:How wide of a plank can it cut on a 45? I've got 9 inch wide planks and some of the other 13" cutters I've looked at barely won't cut a 9 inch plank on a 45. TIA

Answer This Question

A:  I just answered this question, but I wanted to add that I did have to rip cuts so I used a jig saw, but you can also score and snap vinyl plank.

by|Dec 12, 2022

A:  It’s approx 12-15 inches wide, ripping it the long way will not be possible.

        Answer This Question

        A:  Yes.

        by|Apr 9, 2021

A:  Let me first qualify my answer by saying that so far I have not used this cutter to cut laminate with the padding attached, but if the attached padding is like that you buy in rolls to install laminate without the padding attached, then I would say the answer is “Yes” It will cut it!

          by|Feb 26, 2020

          A:  Absolutely! Easily and perfectly.

This product was ordered online and shipped to my home . BE CAREFUL un-boxing this product! When I first opened this product to lift this out of the packaging I somehow managed to break part of the plastic as apparently part of if was snagged on the cardboard. And apparently the cardboard won that battle. The instructions aren't great but I was able to decipher enough to determine how to assemble the product and how the features work. First thing is to attach the cutting blade to the deck with the included hardware which gave me no issues. Next came the handle.... I have yet to be able to fully assemble this handle to the cutting blade. Yes, I removed the set screws and backed them out fully. However, even after whacking the end of the handle several times with a rubber mallet it still will not seat enough to tighten the locking screws. The handle looks like it was assembled once before and has caused the handle and the opening in the cutter for the handle to become fouled and gnarled. I will need to get some polishing bits to smooth this out and hopefully be able to finally assemble the handle. Between this and the plastic breaking is why I gave this 2 stars. I want to like this product, I just can't use it without some additional work. The parts that I do like are the angle finder on the deck to help cut the flooring to the needed angle. however it will only adjust from 0 to 45 degrees. Secondly there is a safety stop that will allow you to lock the blade into place when it is closed. I'm hoping to have this up and working before we start getting into our flooring project next month. If not it will be back to the ol' chop-saw and table saw to make my cuts.

This tool made the job of laying laminate and vinyl tiled floors much easier. In the past I had to use a power miter saw or a straight edge with a utility knife to cut the flooring. For my first project I installed a portion of a vinyl plank floor. This unit is very solidly built with heavy metal components throughout. I simply made a slight adjustment to the blade on the bottom of the tool and then the tool cut the vinyl planks easily and accurately. It does have a mitrer fence attachment to allow you to make accurate angled cuts. Assembly was very easy just screw in a few parts and you're ready to go. The unit so solid it is a little bit heavy but I found that when you lay it down the hole on the table actually becomes a great handle to easily carry and move this tool to your job site. I did not yet try this tool on harder or thicker laminates but I found it worked excellent on the vinyl planks. It certainly made the installation project much easier and would recommend purchasing.

I've been doing a lot of laminate flooring in various parts of my home, so I was anxious to try out this Freeman Laminate Cutter. I thought of all the time I'd save trimming planks to length, not to mention any I would need to cut at an angle. Unfortunately, I was wrong. You need to assemble the cutter's three components first -- and that's where the problems began. The directions are tiny print, poorly-referenced (multiple Ds) and lacking in orientation. Example: "Tighten both adjustment plates by one or two holes." Okay, What do these plates adjust, and what does the tightening impact -- the blade, the required handle pressure? Next, as I was attempting to attach the extender table to the blade component, the supplied phillips head screws started stripping out as I drove them into the table's pilot holes. Great. I also noticed the pilot holes were not drilled square, and at least two of the attaching screws almost broke the surface of the table's top. Eventually, I got the cutter assembled, set the angle to 0 degrees, placed a plank at the length I needed to cut and pressed down on the handle. And kept pressing down on the handle. And checked to ensure the blade was making even contact with the plank. And pressed down on the handle with both hands. Nothing. Surely I was doing something wrong, so I searched the internet for videos of the Freeman cutter being demonstrated. I found one, watched it as the gent easily pressed down the extended handle and cut the plank easily. Since he suggested you cut the planks upside down, I thought I'd try it. Flipped the laminate plank, and pressed the lever down with both hands and ALL my weight on the handle... and I weigh, well, I weigh a lot. Ten to fifteen seconds of that Herculean effort, and the blade FINALLY sheared the plank. I was spent -- if I have to put that much effort into cutting each piece of laminate, I think I'll stick to a circ saw. Very disappointing.

Over my many years of building from new, to just doing remodel projects, I have installed almost every type of flooring that is on the market at least once, and being a person who is a”strong” believer in “work smarter, not harder” one of the first things I do prior to tackling a flooring job (especially if I have never installed that particular brand or style of flooring or it has been awhile) is to go to a store that sells it or go online and look for the latest greatest tool that will allow me to do a better job of installing with less work! This Freeman 13” laminate/ engineered flooring cutter is “THE Tool For The Job”

This laminate flooring cutter is so awesome! It saves you so much time vs the circular saw! This Freeman model is very rugged and made to last. It cuts beautifully as you can see by my picture. (There is padding attached to this floor; so that is what you see on the bottom edge.) The cut on the board is smooth and perfect. It cuts so fast and the base accommodates many different lengths steadily & securely. I love that I can use this cutter for other materials too. You can replace the blade easily when you need to. Assembly was also very easy and it has a guide to help with angles or to keep your boards straight. There is a heavy duty locking mechanism which I love. Very nice quality. Highly Recommend!

Buy it if you do flooring!
Great for the straight open area, not for cutting small details, I will recommend to those that have to get up and bring flooring pieces to a saw, I just keep this near me w a stack of flooring and it saves me from getting up and down a million times! I’ve laid floor twice as fast using this cutter! Highly recommend for laminate, lvt , lvp and any vinyl flooring product that need a straight edge cut. Would buy again!

For the price, it can't be beat. It did the job and allowed for no dust in the air. Allowed me to work in the room and not have to leave to get to the saw. A more expensive one would be better at cutting and use less force, but for us (700 sq/ft job) it was worth the money!
