Great set for the price...4* because one of the guns had bent magazine on the bottom by the load release and spring out of place...took the pins out and bend it with pliers and replaced the spring in proper position...also one of the guns is missing the rubber nonmearing tip...other than that they work well

This is my first nail gun set ever and first time using it with a compressor. I'm a beginner, but highly impressed and satisfied with this product. I can't review it as technical as PaulCoMat did... But I do highly recommend this set! Great price and works well for DiY projects.

Reasonable Value for Light Use
For an avid DIY like myself who has tackled some fairly large scale remodeling projects, I felt like a kid in a candy store getting this good looking assortment of pneumatic nail guns (7 tools, 2 canvas tote bags).
This is a very attractive set, but I don’t purchase products like this for their looks, as much as I do for their ability to do the job, their ease of use and long-term reliability. Over the years, I have owned and used a variety of nail guns, mostly from respected brands so I was looking forward to trying this product. I’ve framed walls, built sheds, installed trusses and much more, so although I’m not a professional, neither am I a novice.
For the most part, I am moderately impressed with the Freeman product. With a couple of important exceptions (see below), after placing a couple of drops of oil into each coupler end, most of the guns worked right out of the box. When they worked, they drove nails or fasteners fully into a standard 2 x 4, they were comfortable to hold and for the most part, they were not difficult to load. I did find that there were some different loading methods used by a couple of the guns (i.e., the “fine wire stapler” loads from the bottom, and some of the sliding mechanisms are slightly different), but loading fasteners was fairly intuitive. There are labeled instructions on some of the guns to aid loading the gun without having to find the instruction manual.
Here are my observations after firing (or trying to fire) a few test rounds into a piece of 2 x 4 lumber:
1. Full Round Head Nailer – Will drive up to 3-1/2” nails. I drove 3” nails fully into & through the lumber in non-sequential firing. The depth adjustment mechanism is exposed and looks cumbersome to set (see picture), but in actual use, it was quite easy to turn the knurled adjustment wheel to obtain slightly different nail depths. There is no feature available to automatically convert the gun from single firing to sequential firing – the instruction manual provides details on how to make the conversion using tools. I seldom use sequential firing, so I did not try to make the conversion. There was quite a “kickback” when firing nails, more-so than I typically experience using similar nail guns from competing manufacturers.
2. 16 Ga Straight Finish Nailer – Drove nails neatly, and without problem. Has a nice tool-less nail jamb removal feature.
3. 18 Ga Stapler – I never owned an air stapler gun before, but I was very impressed with the ability of the gun to drive the 1-1/4” staple so that it was even with the surface of the wood (see picture), and I can see this nail gun providing a good solution for fencing, wire mesh and screening installations. Also has a nice tool-less staple jamb removal feature.
4. Mini Palm Nailer – I own other brands of palm nailers, and I like this one much better. The magnetized head did a nice job of holding the fastener in place, and it helped me to drive a 2” round head nail perfectly straight into a 2 x 4 – and quickly!
5. 23 Ga Micro Pinner – I managed to load the tiny pins into the cartridge, but was unable to connect the air coupler to my hose – unlike all the other couplers provided by Freeman, this one refused to cooperate (I can only assume a quality control failure of the fitting), so I replaced the coupler with a spare one of my own and made a successful connection to my air hose (see picture). However, I still could not get the pinner to fire anything. Going back to the manual, I took apart/reassembled the nose to check for a pin jamb, and then discovered that there is a small “safety” lever at the trigger that must be disengaged before the gun will fire. This safety is not labeled on the gun, and it merits only one sentence in the user’s manual. And although the pinner fired when the safety was disengaged, it still did not shoot any pins – I had only a partial stick of pins loaded (as that was all that was provided by the manufacturer), so perhaps the magazine has to be fully loaded to fire a pin? Unfortunately, as I write this review I don’t have a full stick of pins to try, so the jury’s out on this one. It looks to be a promising tool to assemble picture frames, repair cabinets and chair parts, etc, so I hope it will work.
6. Fine Wire Stapler – I was unable to release the loading slide on the magazine, so I used a small flat screwdriver to carefully “coax” it open. Then I discovered that the manufacturer provided fasteners for all of the guns, EXCEPT for this one, so I am unable to try this gun until after I purchase a supply of appropriate-sized staples (it takes a smaller staple than the 1-1/4” size provided for the “regular” stapler described above that had worked so well). A stuck loading slide, and missing fasteners –quality control? Once again, the jury's out on this one.
Having 4 of the 6 guns work well out of the box (66%) is a ratio that would not normally be considered a passing grade. Fortunately, I was not in the middle of a project or I’d be more than a little disappointed.
Although I did not take the time to completely read the instruction manual that came with each gun, a quick review of the contents suggests that they are comprehensive – and based on my difficulty using the pinner, I strongly suggest that they should be read, not discarded.
The set comes with nice zip-up canvas bag(s), having compartments that neatly accommodate each of the guns, and their adjusting tools.
Each gun came with a set of hex wrenches to use to make adjustments (and in some cases to remove nail jambs), as well as a small container of lubricating oil, neatly packaged for use.
The prominent advertising of a 7-year warranty for this product is impressive, but I’ve learned the hard way, to read beyond the big print. It turns out there is a substantial EXCEPTION to the warranty for “. . . damage … due to normal wear and tear . . .” as well as the usual (and appropriate) exceptions for abusive use. Based on my own experience, the parts most likely to suffer failure are due to wear, such as the blades, bumpers, o-rings, pistons, piston rings, gaskets, etc. and Freeman only warranty's these wearing parts for 90-days (some high-end brands offer a comprehensive 1 year warranty). In this case, I think the Freeman 7-year warranty is of questionable value. In my opinion Home Depot’s very generous 90-day return policy is much more valuable.
My overall impression is that this product set would be a reasonable purchase selection for the occasional to light/moderate nail gun user. If you will be a moderate-to-heavy user of pneumatic guns, you might do better to select a different brand.
