With the Frigidaire Stainless Steel 48 lb. ice maker, you can have fresh, clear ice available at any time. Make up to 48 lbs. of ice in a day. The ice maker also features a choice of ice sizes, small, medium or large. A large ice storage basket and ice shovel are included.
  • Control panel features easy to use button functions with LED indicators
  • A power on LED indicator lets you know the unit is on and producing ice
  • An ice cube select size button allows you to choose your ice size from small to medium to large. An LED light indicator will display which size you chose.
  • An add water LED indicator alerts you if there is no water in the water reservoir and it's time to add more water
  • An ice full LED indicator will let you know when your ice basket is full and it's time for it to be emptied. Ice basket will hold 2.5 to 3 pounds of fresh ice
  • A water drain with drain cap, rubber plug and drain spout makes it a cinch to drain and clean your ice maker.

    A:  No, but I fill mine with the water fill from my refrigerator/freezer in door water and ice dispenser, that does have a filter.

        Lasted 6 months
        Worked fine for about 6 months. Now as you can see by the photo, it only makes a few pieces of ice each cycle. Low refrigerant I assume. Unacceptable.

          This thing makes serious ice every 6 minutes! Within an hour you will have a basketful of ice. In a couple of hours your ice bucket in the freezer will be full. We use water from our reverse osmosis faucet on the sink to fill it. It does not stay on for days since it has a 24 hour shut off and the ice that is left in it is recycled, as it melts, back into ice cubes when you turn it back on. The basket that catches the ice is suspended above the bottom and there is a small drain where the water is pumped back into the upper ice making section. Very quiet operation. The only noise is the scoop that moves the ice into the basket after the ice falls from the metal pipes that hang from the top inside the unit. I would equate the sound level of the ice falling equivalent to that of a regular ice maker in the refrigerator. Definitely worth the cost which was below $300. It is portable so use it anywhere in the house even if there is no plumbing since you fill it with a separate pitcher of water. Put it out on the deck or patio, preferably in the shade. Take it on a trip and plug it into your inverter and make ice on the go! There are so many uses for this machine. Enjoy!

          Pleasantly Surprised
          Bought this 2 years ago with great skepticism but today was the day. After two years of nearly 24/7 production, she finally gave out. It might still be fixable but around here you DO NOT GO WITHOUT ICE so the second one is on the way. We'll see if we can fix this one and keep it around as a spare. Hopefully the new one is as good as the first. I can't say the same about this companies major appliances and I will never buy them again but I will be a good sport about this device.
